Euro Fighter Close-Up

Hersh, name one fighter that is better than the F-22?
It'll take out it's enemy, and they wont ever know what hit em.
I saw it on Future Weapons.
I've helped build a few center sections of a few F-22's. That's the best fighter up to date. Nothing can beat it. I read China is going to try and make their own similar type plane with radar evading properties. It'll never match up I'd bet. When the F-35 makes full rate production the eurofighter will be outmatched by another plane.
I don't believe the Euro Fighter or Su- 37 is better than the F-22 (For all those R&D dollars, and 30 years from concept to reality, it better not be).
The military channel folks (same folks behind Future weapons (Discovery Channel) ) said the Euro Fighter and the Su-37 are a match for it with regard to performance, speed and at a price point much cheaper, but with no "stealth".
BVR, the F-22 is without competition, but once they get within visual range (if that ever happens) when stealthiness means nothing, then it's performance advantage may become less of an advantage... Remember- they said they F-22 is stealthy, not invisible.
What I saw (Military Channel) said one of their tactics is as they fly (2 jets) and detect an enemy. One plane will go low and close the gap with the enemy, allowing them to fly over the "low" F-22 while the "high" (decoy) F-22 flys in a manner that lets the enemy "see" it. The F-22 is most stealthy when directly approaching the target. But it can be better seen from other angles, and when banking, by airborne radar.
Anyhoo, while they (The enemy) focus on the one they can see, the one they can't see, comes up from behind them, and shoots them all down, and they never know the 2nd F-22 (the one that killed them) was there.
There's a lot we don't know about the F-22. What I've mentioned here is general knowledge. It's what we don't know that will spell disaster for anyone who tangles with it.
Like the fact that it's top speed is listed at Mach 2.1; but it's engines develop more thrust than an SR-71's, and the plane itself is lighter than an SR-71...
I'd bet the F-22 can attain Mach 3 easily- especially if it can supercruise at Mach 1, without afterburners.

I'm not big on fighter jets, but even if you are, after seeing what that bad boy is capable of, you will see jets in a different way. I have a new respect for figher jets.

What height can it reach? I don't know the numbers, but at that hieght and that speed, imagine the ground it can cover.

That's sweet.

I was watching something about the new JTF fighter competition (Boeing and Lockheed) wonder how good that thing is gonna be compared to the F22. I know the JTF had to be able to perform VTOL, and alot of other requirements. But will it be as good of a fighter?

With the technology we have today, who knows what could be next.

There are 3 variants of the f-35, CTOL , STOVL, and carrier variant.
What would a guy like me have to do to get a tour of the plant and see these things being born?
