Polar bear plunge
Polar bear plunge
I'm not even sure if I do post this without the topic getting locked but I figure it is worth a shot.
Anyways, I'm participating in an annual event "The Polar Bear Plunge."
I'm sure some of you have heard of it. Basically, I'm just seeing if anyone would be interested in donating. All donations go to benefit the Special Olympics Foundation so it is for a worthy cause.
Just to clue those in who have no clue what "the plunge" is. Basically, I get to jump in the Ohio River while the outside temperature will be below freezing. The event is held at the end of February so I'm gonna stick with the fact that I'm going to freeze my ***** off.
I'm going to post up the link to my teams donation page, but if this is something that shouldnt have been posted just let me know..

Good luck with that.
When I did my first ever cold water survival school, they used to take you out into the North Sea for a few miles, throw you overboard and leave you there for 30 minutes to get a little taster. Probably the most uncomfortable experience of my life.
I didn't freeze my ***** off but you could have grated Parmesan cheese on my sack afterwards
I'll offer you this little tip if you've never done this before.
When you jump in, firmly pinch your nose shut with one hand and cover your mouth tight with the other.
Don't uncover till you surface and are stable.
With low water temperature, you WILL take an involuntary breath and it's best not to do this underwater.
Trust me
