07 Silverado - Real World MPG's?
I don't know how much they have changed, but with my 02 5.3 Silverado Extended Cab, 4x2, I got 16 and 19. With my 05 Screw, 5.4, 4x2 I get 17 and 19.5.

'04 Lariat SC 4x4, 3.73. ~12.5 in town per tank. I always start out thinking I'll go easy for THIS tank and see what I get. Never happens. Up to 19.7 highway non-stop steady 70mph. BTW - these are calculated numbers, not from the dash readout. Towed two cords of firewood 90miles from ~200ft. elevation to 7100ft. Got about 15mpg. Very happy with performance and will be even happier once my tunes arrive. Good luck.
I had an 05 Chevy CC Z71 w/5.3 and 3.42 gears, tow package etc. At 20,000 miles the truck rattled and made noises driving down smooth roads. When hooked to trailers of all weights it had no low end. When I would get up to speed it was fine, especially on the highway. I averaged around 15 to 16 mpg empty in town. On the highway I would get 19 empty, 13 with a 6000lb camper and it was a struggle for the motor at times.
My 05 Ford CC is getting 15.2 in the city and around 16 on the highway. It has power all the way through the power band. The main thing to me is that it has no rattles at 30,000 miles and has a better ride to it to me. I have yet to check the mileage when towing, then again I am so happy with how well it pulls, I haven't worried about the fuel.

for what it is worth.
I started with a 97 f250 l/d, 5.4 3.73 gear, i bought it new in 97 and have average 12.5 to 13.1 city and 14's highway from day one til last week when i checked it. Only thing better than a new truck is an older reliable one that already has a few scrathes. i plan to keep this truck a while.
i bought an 01 supercrew 5.4 with 3.55 gears and up until it launched a plug in December i got 12.8 to 13.7 with highway driving in the 14's ( i drive 75 to 80 on my road trips).
my new 07 avalanche 5.3 , 3.73, is heavier than the other 2 and with just 500 miles on it is averaging 15.5 city. i cant help but think it will get better as the motor gets worn in. my wifes 01 suburban gets 14.5 to 15.0 in the city and 18 on the highway.
pulling my 21 ft travel trailerloaded will all of our "stuff" the fords get 6.5 mpg, the suburban gets 8.5.
i have no experience with the new 3v 5.4.
These are real world back to back numbers from the same driver with the same bad driving habits.
had Ford not had the spark plug problem i more than likely would have purchased a king ranch f150 as i really like the looks of them and i would not let a 2 mpg difference be the desiding factor.

_______
why does no one here realize how small the spark plug problem is on the fords? It really isn't a big deal. And surely isn't enough to make me drive a cheby
