I spent most of the weekend in an 8 x 12 room

Here are the before pictures (taken when we did our walk-through when we bought it):

This is the bathroom by my son's room that goes out to the pool.

Here is what we did:
- Took down border paper
- Removed base boards
- Replaced the light (had to patch a big hole in the drywall)
- Took down two towel bars (patched 4 more holes in the drywall)
- Painted ceiling and walls
- Had a friend paint the clouds
- Put up new base boards and chair rail
- Installed new towel hooks

My wife came up with the color scheme from the shower curtain and accessories.

Now the after pictures...

Looks good, I like the colors and images you chose for the bath.

Next step is to clean and seal the grouting on tile floors, etc.

We are going to hang some pictures on the wall and replace the faucet.

The tile and grout are in great shape. The previous owners actually used some sort of paint on the grout to make it look new again. They did it over 2 years ago and it still looks great.

Looks good and sounds like it went pretty smooth, unlike my most recent "project" lol

Couldn't tell that from photograph. If grout has already been sealed or colorsealed properly that should last for many years with minimal cleaning and maintenance.

That's why I phrased it that way.

Thanks!

Sorry to hijack, but has anybody refinished a bath tub a different color instead of replacing the tub?

I've never done it myself, but I watched a buddy redo his sink.....That paint is some messy crap.

That was about 4 years ago, and it was in his bathroom. He has moved since then, but it did fine for the time he was there.

If your gonna do that, make sure you tape off as much as you can around the sink (tub or whatever), wear protective eyewear, and something to cover your hair. It's a biz-nitch to get outta your hair.

If you take your time, you'll never notice a difference.
