Help with poor quality pictures

I had stopped posting pictures due to my lack of skills with a camera. I tried again today and the results like before, do not do justice to my truck. Here are the settings that were used.

Camera make: OLYMPUS OPTICAL CO.,LTD
Camera model: C990Z,D490Z
Date/Time: 0000:00:00 00:00:00
Resolution: 800 x 600
Flash used: No
Focal length: 8.0mm
Exposure time: 0.0025 s (1/400)
Aperture: f/3.5
ISO equiv.: 100
Metering Mode: matrix
Exposure: program (auto)

your resolution is what is hurting you. If your camera cant do more then 800x600 then you really need a newer camera

Does it have a setting for the quality of the pictures it takes? Most camera's allow the user to change these settings to allow more pics on a memory card. Just a thought.

It has higher resolution 1600x1200 but I resized it to use online. It is time for a new camera. Suggestions on easy to use with high quality?

well take the pic in the "higher" resolution and then let the computer or photobucket or f150online resize it for you.

any cannon or sony camera imo is going to be fairly easy and user friendly. Not that others arent, thats just my preference/ experience

I have a Canon Power Shot A610. I have no idea what it can do. I'm too lazy to read up on it.

Thanks for your continued help with this issue of mine..

It is a D490Z and by todays standards, I guess it is obsolete.

Patman03SprCrw, In all fairness, I dont think the camera is to blame Photobucket did resize the picture

yeah, but it didnt resize it as much as it "normally" would.

I would shoot for atleast 5 mega pixels in your next camera, all though even 5mp is kinda falling behind the "normal" ratings now a days.

Ive got a sony DSC-S500 that is 6mp 3x optical etc....

sounds about right on a 8mp camera

EDIT actually i take that back, after looking at some of my pics. between 2.50 and 2.70 mb on average for my pics on 6mp camera

Anaheim, Try going to "Record Mode" and choose an image resolution setting....try in HQ, SHQ or SQ-High. To get into SQ-High, press and hold triangle button on the arrow pad for two seconds while in SHQ or SQ mode respectively.

Also, what size memory card do you have? The amount of pics will be limited to the size of the card.

Yah you need to look for the information on your specs either by your camera's menu, or looking at a picture on your comp, and right click-properties, and see what information you can gather
