Unbelievable Injustice

This kind of stuff ticks me off....the kid made bad choices for sure but 10 years mandatory sentence....give me a break...

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/etick...ry?page=wilson

When he was a senior in high school, he received oral sex from a 10th grader. He was 17. She was 15. Everyone, including the girl and the prosecution, agreed she initiated the act. But because of an archaic Georgia law, it was a misdemeanor for teenagers less than three years apart to have sexual intercourse, but a felony for the same kids to have oral sex.
It's a rather lengthy piece but you just get more ticked as you read.

Well it's an archiac law. They can't just ignore it when it is there.

Why the hell not? Our government has been regularly ignoring the Constitution for years.

Now, without readintg the article, how'd the kid get busted? It's not like he's the only kid getting head so her parents, or someone, had to have found out and griped.

Having just perused through that article, I'm effing livid. WTF? "We" just institutionalised a young man who was an Honor Student and had a college scholarship all but lined up. I'm sure he'll bre really understanding 10 years from now when we let him out to once again mix with the world amidst it;s concerns and employments at nearly 30 years old with not a LICK of real world experience, no job skills, nothing.

This is the truly sickening sentence in the article:

"At the same time this trial was under way, a local high school teacher, a white female, was found guilty of having a sexual relationship with a student -- a true case of child molestation. The teacher received 90 days. Wilson received 3,650 days."

Un-f@#$ing-believable!! If I lived in GA, I'd be yelling at my reps to get this law completely rewritten.

Boortz was talking about this on his radio show. GA has already rewritten the law, but because the kid was already convicted, it didn't help. The GA governor needs to grant him a full pardon.

There are hundreds of laws on the books that should be repealed. As society advances some of those laws are just way to out-dated.

Is it possible for us all to write a short letter asking whoever responsible to give a pardon in this case?
