Microsoft & X-Box (Killer Instinct)

Well, I guess Microsoft does have a killer instinct after all...

At the end of the day, neither Sony or Microsoft makes money (At least not that much) on the console. Where the money is made is on the accessories (Extra controller, back pack, cables, etc..) and the games.

Windows Vista debuts on January 28, 2007- and will offer XBox 360 integration, allowing X-box games to be played on your PC. This is a smart move on Micorsoft's part... (I'd go a step further and allow PC games to be played on the 360, but- we'll see...)

While that integration may not kill Sony, it will give Microsoft a revenue stream and a customer base that Sony can't touch. X-Box 360 success will far outstrip that of Sony because X-box "sales" can no longer be measured solely by the movement of boxed X-box 360 units. If you buy the bundle, you're essentially getting a free X-Box 360.

Way to go Microsoft... It's good to see Netscape didn't sap all of you killer instinct.

Yeah, that's gonna be cool, yeah... take my 360 games on the road! I forgot though, the 360 controllers are not Bluetooth, are they? I want to be able to connect my 360 controller via BT and play just like I would at home. Giddy up!

That's big...I just can't wait to see someone with a built in 32 meg video card on their E-Machine try to run Halo.

I'd hate to be on MS's support desk...

I'm sure if the machine isn't rated for Vista Premium then they'll say they won't support the game.

Well, I'm sure there'll be minimum system requirements involved...

I'm not saying go buy Windows vista, and put it on the machine you had Windows 3.11, 95 & 98 on. You'll probably need a machine with performance matching or exceeding that of an X-Box. Serious PC gamers probably have more than enough to handle it. Other's will have to "upgrade".

Most people get a new PC every 3-4-5 years anyway...

My son was playing some Marvel video game on the PC at Best Buy yesterday, complete with the wireless X-box 360 controller.
