How much patience do you have?

I don't know if mine would have lasted that long.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16565583/

"Passengers say the ordeal ended only after the pilot taxied to a gate without permission — 15 hours after the flight had boarded."

At some point, I would have stood up and opened the door.
It would be up to you whether you wanted to follow me down the Emergency Chute slide.

I would have been right there with you. I would have made a lot of noise before 2 hours passed, no way I would have kept my cool for 9.

I would have been right behind you. No way I would sit on that plane that long with overflowing toilets and a bunch of pissed off people. AA should offer free travel for a year for everyone who was on that flight.

I'd hate to end up in handcuffs but being arrested and released probably took less time.

Crazy...

One guy mumbles "Allah Akhbar" or drops a note somewhere to be found they would have been off in minutes.

That's ridiculous. A good reason to avoid American Airlines I guess.

I just avoid airlines in general! I'm glad I'm in a job where I don't have to travel... I'm glad any friend/relative I want to visit is on the West coast, so I can drive to them..

I'm not afraid of flying, in fact I love it, but it's the airport hassle, then being stuffed in a large tube with way too many people, stuffed so tight that when one person wants to move, three others have to move as well... I'm 6'3" and the only seat I've ever been comfortable in is an Emergency Exit seat! (or First Class, but that's only been one time!)

One time I had a 'regular' center seat and my knees were already pressing up against the seat in front of me to begin with and when that person wanted to recline, my knees went even more into their back... The person turned around and asked me if I could please move my knees!! I laughed and then stood up and having to lean over on their side of the aisle because of the limited head room, said that was not going to be possible unless we trade seats... They didn't want to move, so that person only reclined 'half way'...

If I was on that grounded flight, I would have just pissed right there in front a flight attendant to demonstrate the need to be off that plane!!

I saw this on TV and was thinking the same thing, What would I do, Call 911 and report a bomb on the plane, call the airline and tell them myself or just go ape sh** on someones a** that would get you off the plane quickly.

After the arrest and court hearing sue the airline for false imprisonment, or a kidnapping of sorts

The flight was scheduled for 3.5 hours that's the limit for me.

To sit on the tarmac, ignored for 9 hours would have been too much.

At the 3.5 hour mark I would have summoned the stewardess.
I would tell her to relay to the Captain that in exactly 60 minutes I would open the door and exit the aircraft.

Not threateningly, matter of factly and the countdown would begin. End of story.

I'm a reasonable person but, I'm not a sheep.

Nine hours sitting on a plane that wasn't moving?
And the Captain finally went to the gate unauthorized?

I don't know who was more insane, the airline or the people who sat there.

Crap, I will be flying AA this weekend. But I expect to be on the airplane for at least 9 hours.
