Question Zune is Gone Need ipod Help!

I'm having a little trouble putting cds I own on my ipod. The cd automatically goes onto Itunes, but when it gets there I have to drag each song from the cd to the playlist I want it in. With the Zune, it would put entire albums together, in a playlist. If I wanted to play an album, I would just click on the album photo, and hit enter. Can I organize my albums on the ipod like this? Now, it just puts the songs in the playlist with what album its from, all in one big list. And how do I get the album cover photo to show up when I play a song from it? Sorry, I know this is probably very easy, and very old news, but ipods are very new to me. Thanks for helping the slow and techno-challenged.

P.S. The reason I got rid of the Zune is, I was having trouble with it cutting off in the middle of songs. It just cut off and wouldn't cut on for like 5 minutes. I also was afraid that the aftermarket would not support it. I like accessories.

Why don't you select all the songs, then drag them all to the itunes playlist rather than one at a time?

I tried that, and every time I did, it wouldn't do anything. This is what I did: I logged on to itunes. Then, I put the cd in(John Mayer). It automatically ripped the songs into my library. I then made a playlist folder labled John Mayer. I clicked the 'edit' tab and clicked 'select all'. I dragged the whole list to the John Mayer folder. A little '+' sign popped up. I thought it took it, but when I clicked on the JM tab, nothing was in there. The only way I could get the songs into that folder was to drag them there, one by one, from the 'recently added' list.

I just click on an album & it plays. No playlists, nothing fancy. Just import. I can search by artist, album or song.

did you drag them over from your library into the playlist or straight from the CD?

Put the CD in, it automatically starts importing. I don't use playlists.

Sorry for the confusion, I was asking Fireboy if he dragged the songs over from his library and put it into the playlist or selected the songs from the CD itself. In order to put the songs into the playlist you have to bring them over from your library

Thumbs up

I think I got it now. I'm so damn slow!! I WAS trying to drag them from the cd. I went to the library and BINGO! selected the first song on the list, held down the Ctrl key, and highlighted the songs from that cd. Right click, and selected the playlist I wanted. I also figured out how to get the cd cover. Thanks for the help, Guys. Maybe one day I'll catch up to the rest of society!

I would give it to you, BUT, I exchanged it for the ipod. That's why you always keep the receipt!!

there's 2 reasons I am keeping my ipod and not getting a zune:

1. It won't play in my F-150

2. The lame 3x3 rule used on shared songs. (Stops playing a shared song 3 days after you download it or after 3 plays)

Plus what's so hard about iTunes? I'm not trying to take you away from buying one but merely warning you about what my buddies whom have it have said

could you explain that 3x3 rule some more?
what do you mean by shared song

and i would rather not have itunes because i dont like needing a player to put songs on it
my dell has it where it opens a folder n you drag n drop whatever you like on it.
