Fusion review...
Not by me, this was linked from Blue Oval News.com...
Well, its my wife's car, but you guys & gals already know how I feel about the new 2006 (2007) Fusion (Love it). It seems a lot of other people like it too on this site, and in the press.
Theirs:

In clicking through this link provided by RMS80, I found an article about the Fusion. It’s just funny the surprises this reviewer came across have been some of the same things I have discussed here a year ago, especially, the stereo…
Ours:

I like to call ours, “Mercedes Silver” Paint job was first class, just like a Benz…
We have cloth seats, but- I feel ya…
Well, we don’t even have the Audiophile, and I’m impressed with the stock stereo. My Bose stereo (stock) in my MDX doesn’t sound ½ this good.
I agree, I just wish they had lavished the Five Hundred with the same amount of enthusiasm, or at least the same exterior design team.
This is proof that Ford can build appealing mainstream vehicles (aside from trucks), I’m glad to see them do it. The Edge looks promising, and I saw my first Lincoln MKX on the road yesterday (I still think my MDX is nicer than that…). Two certain steps in the right direction… Bravo Ford, hopefully it’s not too little, too late…

But perhaps the element that captured the majority of my attention was the paint job.

I’ve seen cars that retail for three times this price that couldn’t hold a candle to the quality of the Fusion paint. Further, the fit and finish on the body panels is also unparalleled. Every gap looks as though it has been meticulously measured, from the hood to the doors, and back to the trunk.

After hearing the first five notes of “Up in Here”, I felt my smile widen. I increased the bass, decreased the treble, and performed a quick check of the balance and fade controls. As the tune carried on, I was increasingly impressed as I felt the vibe of the bass thundering amidst the interior.

Every time I ride in our friend's Fusion it makes me wish my wife was due for a new vehicle -- it is truly an awesome car, and I'd buy one for her in a heartbeat!
The only thing I don't like about the vehicle are the rear taillights -- I think they look like some "ricey" aftermarket lamps a 16-year-old boy might put on his car......

I've done TONS of reading on the Fusion and that car seems to just blow everything away: expectations, Accords, Camrys, you name it, it got owned by the Fusion.
It is even out-performing ALL of Ford's projections in terms of quality and sales. That's not too shabby!
The only negative things people seem to find are: high trunk, causing poor backing up visibility, and small controls for the HVAC.
That's it.
If I had a need for a car, the Fusion would be it.

The I-4 could be better, but kinda puts a small door ding in an otherwise bulletproof car.
That, and I was a little bit disappointed they didn't let the mirrors fold in... Minor BS gripe, but- a way to improve going forward... Since most of America lives in cities folding mirrors are damn-near necessary... If you want to keep both mirrors anyway...

It is a sharplookin' car. A new teacher bought one after testing it against the Camry; he said that the Fusion was indeed the better car. I also agree that the tail lights look too much like aftermarket ones, though...

Sold lots of them, lots of happy customers. In fact, I sold one to Robamus on here. See what he thinks...
I like them, I just wish they had better lease programs on them at the time and my wife would be driving one, and not an Accord. The Accord is just so BLAH!

Any 'consistant' problems with the new Fusion? I've heard rave reviews of the Five Hundred from a reliability standpoint -- plus, didn't Consumer Reports or someone like that actually use the models "Camary" and "Five Hundred" in the same sentence not too long ago? Definintely a step in the right direction for FoMoCo...
Additionally, I stopped and looked at an Edge on the way home tonight. The one I checked out was pretty 'base modelish' but, I really kind of liked it.

So far my mom loves her Zepher (MkZ now). Hers only has the base stereo which is the same as the Audiophile in the F-150. The upgraded stereo in the Zepher is 1200 watts THX II certified with two subs.

It's a Damn shame Ford isn't marketing this car more... I mean, it's not going to dethrone Camry & Accord just yet (perception), BUT- the Fusion is a hands down good looking, roomy, and not to mention highly reliable car. (If I say it's roomy, most any man, and probably 99% of women will find it quite comfortable.)
I just saw a Fusion/Mustang commercial (rare)- but, I can't watch TV without seeing a Jetta commercial. You've got to promote a new model... The F-150 sells itself, but I see F-150 commercials all the time. People are aware of the F-150, no need to advertise it as much. The Fusion is a new model... Come on guys! Who the heck's in charge of Ford's marketing & advertising?
A Fusion SVT would be awesome too; especially with a 4.6L V-8 AWD, and 300 HP, 290 lb/ft.... (Hoooooooooo-weeeeeee)...
I can see the add now, "With the only V8 engine in it's class" (Unless you lump in the C55 AMG or the Caddy CTS-V).
Take a chance Ford!

I see commercials for the Fusion everyday. Sometimes 3 or 4 times each night.
Maybe it's just different markets, but they are advertising the heck out of it here.

I don't think I've seen an ad for a Fusion myself -- it certainly wan't memorable if I did......
Ford desperately needs to have an "enthusiasts" version of every car they make. Sporty suspension, increased horsepower, a few well-placed aesthetic effects. Something that makes you say, "I want a car like that" -- not just, "I need a car like that"......

Here's a video link from a commercial I saw while watching the playoffs.
