Thanks PSS, I tried searching the net for something like that but didn't know what terms to search. :o
I'll just get the Dual Pro's and see how they hold up before diving into trying to hook them up to the big motor........afterall, I barely run the big motor; maybe 10-15 mins to each "hole" before running the trolling motor.

Thanks for the help guys.

This is a pretty cool system to make sure the battery is always charged in between trips while you're towing it around.

Good luck with the new batteries. Let me know how they work out.

No problem. I'm sure if you look into it a little, you can figure it out and just make your own thing instead of buying it off the web. Oh and I didn't answer your question from last night since Matt beat me to it..LOL

Damnit Brew, you were wanting to spend my money the other night............ I think you just did again!

Budha, I was asking around today about charging 24v with a 12v system, and some of the fishermen said that there is also a thing you can get at most auto stores, that lets you hook the 2 batteries up and uses your boats system to charge, plus if something happens and your cranking battery goes dead, you can flip a switch and use your trolling batteries at 12v. Not a huge benefit but kind of handy if your in a tournament, saves time by not having to unhook them and move one back to start.

I'll have to go driving around and see what I can find. I do carry a long set of thick jumper cables as a back up if my cranking battery dies. Next week I'll be doing some woodworking at my boat dealer's house, so I'll pick his brain on this topic too.

Brew's link looks good but I'd need the $250 version to work for me, so after dropping $360 + tax on batteries, I'll wait to see if someting else comes along.

Yea I dont fish so all I have is a cranking battery, the $90 one will do me. Not often but a few times I have forgotten to check the charge before we head out so we get to the camp site and the battery is dead, have to wait an hour or so before we put in while the battery is charging. Then dont shut teh boat off for the next couple of hours to charge it up.

I lied earlier, there as one time last year I ran my battery down, weekend beofre 4th of july. We went down to watc hfirewaorks over teh water and made a day of it. We found our spot and pretty much parked on the water and listened ot the radio and swam because the boat wasnt running right, it was over heating. after 14 hours of running the radio and the auto bilge pump (had a slight leak at the gimbal) when I went to start it, then it was dead. Luckily had teh jump box and got it back to the ramp.

I forgot about this thread. So a few weeks ago I went to Cabella's and picked up (2) two AGM batteries;
MCA @ 32 deg. F: 1525 Amps
CCA @ 0 deg. F: 1205 Amps
Reserve Capacity: 205 Minutes
Weight: 84 Lbs

I haven't had a chance to install them yet but they sounded like a couple of beasts so I'll try them out.
