My first Ford Truck

Hello, I just became a new owner of a 1999 Ford F150 XLT Supercab with over 82,000 miles, execelent condition, 5.4 Triton V8, dual exhaust, and running boards for $9,995.00. (not including taxes and tags) This will be my first Ford truck I have ever owned. At first I thought I was getting ripped off by the price. So I looked it up in the blue book and was surprised that I was getting it for less than what it was worth. So now I have out front of my house showing it off to everyone. I am the only one on my block with a truck and I love it. The exhaust pipes are great. They make that awesome rumble that I love so much. Sorry if I sound a little excited but I can't help it. After I post this I am going for a spin around the area, and to look for a cd player with it. It only came with am/fm cassette.

If it is an XLT there just may be a CD changer somewhere in the back of the cab. Maybe not, but wouldn't hurt to check b4 you go out and buy another one...

Howdy and welcome. It's a buyers market right now for used trucks. People that really didn't need a big truck or suv in the first place are ditchin' em so the lots and ebay are flooded.

Good for me though, just keep adding to the fleet... heh heh

I'll get the pics as soon as I get them developed. Sorry I don't own a digital camera yet. I am really into the truck, from the way it looks and handles. The front grill is an after market grill and it looks like it was made from a billet. The only thing I wish it had was a Ford symbol on the front grill.

I looked and didn't find one. I thought since it's only a 3 door it probally wouldn't. Thanks anyway.

I have 1 question. My truck came with a towing package but I need a ball hitch. How much of a drop is best

Depends on what kind of trailer you will be towing, I have a 2" Drop, 3/4" Rise for my little Flatbed Utility Trailer

All 1997 & 1998 Supercabs are 3 door, and later models have 4. If there was one it would have been in back on the driver's side, on the inside of the panel that would be a door if it were a 4 door.

Just thought it might be worth a try, as it happened to me once. Didn't order it that way, but a 6 CD changer was there anyway...

Nice surprise for not having paid for it.

I am confused. You said that it is a '99 and then you state that it only has 3 doors. The '99 was the first year for 4 doors. '97 and '98 had 3 doors.

The big change everyone has wanted is the addition of a fourth door to SuperCab models. Ford has complied and made the 4-doors standard on all SuperCab models. As far as this journalist is concerned, the 4-door SuperCab is the only way to order a pickup.

My CD changer in my '98 was in the armrest area of the back seat on the fixed door (3 doors). It was below the side window in the little cubby area next to the seat bottom.

I'm sorry it is a 1998, the dealer had 99 on the windshield. Jerk! LOL! I did find that little area you guys were talking about, but looks like someone took something out of it. All I seen was wires. Once again I'm sorry for the false info on the year.

No problem on the year.

They probably took out the CD changer then. I had a 6 disc changer in that area. You could probably find one on Ebay somewhere, since they used the same changer in the Expeditions, too.

What color is your truck? I sold my Moonlight Blue '98 SuperCab XLT 4.6L with 70k miles back in May of '05 for $8500 (sold it to my brother). He traded it in last year with 95k miles and the dealer gave him $7500. Mine was a Flareside, captains chairs, Expy console mod, LS rear.

It's red. I wanted a blue one but since the price was right I wasn't complaining. It has the captain chairs which I think are great. They are so comfortable. Everything is power. I am looking on ebay right now for the cd changer. I hate the auctions, so I hope I can get one for a cheap price with the buy it now option.
