Looks like we had an FTP process spinning out of control. I restarted the FTP server and now memory swap is back to normal...sorry for the inconvenience.

Just to add...

What little information that I can gather about usage on the site... we are carrying about 1200 folks using the site right now... that's fairly significant considernig that our max ever online was around 1430 back in April of 06'.
