Child Support Question

Does anybody know FOR SURE (Attorneys)? I had a son 6 years ago. His mom and I split up, I was with her 14 years. I now have a new girlfriend and she is now pregnant. This was not planned. I am paying 20 some percent of my salery to my sons mom now. If me and my new girlfriend were to break up, what percent would be my total support payment? Would it be the same as having 2 kids with the same person? I don't plan on breaking up with my current girlfriend, just looking down the road at what I am in for if it happens. This is a serious question, please don't judeg me. Having kids with different moms isn't how I had my life planned out.

Im not 100% positive, but if your doing 20% to one, then 20% should go to the next....

I thought the financial situation of the mother had alot to do with it. If the mother makes good money then the father is usually pays less. My parents where divorced while I was growing up and my mom made the most money. I remember my dad having to pay less because of that.

File for custody. Make her pay you child support. Get a vasectomy. Hire a hot nanny. Problem solved.

Anybody else need help?

Hate to say it but I'm afraid it can be worse than that....

Here anyway, it acctually goes off what you are making "gross" at the time of seperation. So if your making more now than you were with your first babies momma, then this new babies momma would get more.

Best advice is play by the rules, and this way, if by chance something does happen, then you have a fighting chance at getting custody yourself, thus no child support from you.

Some great relationship you guys must have. Sorry if this is low and completely out of line, but if you are in a relationship where this is your outlook have you guys considered other "options" with this pregnancy?

My wife receives $400 a month for my step daughter. I think was just the amount they both agreed on without the courts involved. My wife and her ex had an ammicable split, so they decided not to go to court.

Is your child support payment directed by the court? If so, not much you can do about it. If you were to split with your current girlfriend/wife, then I would reasonably assume you would pay a similar amount to her...

Don't pay attention to some people, they don't understand situations like this. I do not judge people, its not my place to do so...

My words come from experience. I receive $299 a month from my ex wife for our daughter. I had to file on her because she was a deadbeat mom and owes us over $53,000. I now get paid by the state attorney general's office because they dock her check, and if she defaults, off to the slammer she goes.

Honestly every state is different, my friend brings home $3200 a month and $2400 goes to his ex for 2 kids plus makes her car payment. Hes 30 years old and has to live with 2 other 20 year old guys in a 2 bedroom apartment to live. By the way she doesnt work and has a boyfriend that lives in her house.
