i got a tracfone for christmas cuz i dont really need a phone but i guess i should have it for emergencies i got the motorola c139




the only thing i dont like about the phone is that it only has monophonic ringtones but itll be fine since it was only 20 dollars

my only problem is that im not getting text messages
i can send em fine and they get to people right away but the only person i can receive text messages from so far from trying is my dad who uses cingular and my phone itself.

on the site i went through technical support n did what the ytold me n they said at the end to txt yourself and if it works nothings wrong.
but i still cant get txts from a lot of people

the signal is great surprisingly since i live in the country but i dont know why i cant get txts from most people

do you think its bad service or there is a problem that can be fixed?

Haha, sorry I saw that commercial way too many times this season.

My sister had a Tracfone a while back and hers worked fine, could be because you're out in the country.

 

i got one about 5 months ago and it works fine but i dont text so i dont know about that but i was in the country untill after katrina now new orleans has started to move up to my area i live 46 miles north or it

 

If it is running in analog you wont get the message until it switches back to digital secrvice.

 

what does that mean

 

Next to your signal bars there is a letter in a square.
A = Analog
D = Digital

Analog is a limited service, you can have full bars analog and your service is still limited. Sometimes if I'm in an analog service area my phone wont even ring.

1 bar of digital is all you need for text.

If your in analog, hold the phone up and try to move around sometimes you can find a digital signal.
