Hey yall-
I just thought I'd share some video love. This happened about a month ago. An SO truck ran a red light and T-Boned one of our FD Trucks. No video of the actual crash...I am working on getting those since both dash cams captured it. Enjoy!

Nobody is owning up to filming it, so I can't tell you. Forsyth County is not known for it's education.

I love how when there's police/fire/EMS/T involved in an accident the entire town is on the scene. A helicopter? Was that really neccessary?
It's the same here. There was a head on collision on one of our 4 lane bridges a while back, the accident was on the far lane and they had to close the two lanes next to it during rush hour traffic. Not because of broken glass, not beacuse of spilled fluids but because every cop car in town was parked on the bridge.

There's a reason why in the past 35 years, my department has had no deaths or serious injuries (ie: a guy twisted his ankle when he slipped outta the Engine a few years ago...no big deal). We can't run red lights. We all understand that lights/siren merely ask the traffic to move--not a right of way. If an intersection is clear, we can proceed. Though we don't have to come to a complete stop, we must verify that the intersection is clear BEFORE we nose into it. Our Sherriffs must also follow the same protocol. No driving incidents in approx. 35 years. Good record IMO.
BTW--the one back in the 70's: some idiot was atop the engine putting on his boots on the way to a fire. The driver decided to drive really fast around a turn, and the engine rolled. Driver: minor injuries. FF atop the engine: killed. Engine on top of him. Preventable death.
