Is Ford Building GM trucks?

I heard from someone that Ford has a hand in building GM's new line of trucks. Is this true?

No, I think Ford has a hand in selling the new GM trucks... Since, I won't buy one with those cheesy little doors. If they'd bring back the true regular cab I would love to have a new Ford, especially if they built the concept Lightning...

But to answer your question, I have heard nothing about Ford working with GM on their trucks. GM is usually in cahoots with Izuzu...

LOL, no they are not. I've been inside the new GM truck plant in Oshawa (Ont) and there are no signs of a Ford truck any where.

Alright. I just heard from someone from a GM dealership that GM went to Ford about the frame or something like that or there were some Ford plants that were building parts of GM trucks.

I found it as odd but he's usually right about vehicle things. He's not a salesman but a mechanic.

I believe that someone posted a link to spy photos of the '09 F150, and in the write up there was speculation that Ford would bring back a true regular cab. I'm with you. I would rather have a "regular" regular cab.

If I remeber correctly, Ford and GM did work on a transmission together.

Ford and GM designed the new 6 speed tranny that is in the Ford Edge together. GM is using it in their GMC Acadia.
