Here is a TRUE story for dog lovers to read -

We have a little 3-year old Beagle, Sam, that we pretty much
spoil rotten.

We don’t have kids, but he thinks that he is a little people…lol

And he is smart as a whip (whatever that means).

(to set the scene, a few days ago I had just come back from a
birthday party for me, and brought home several still wrapped
presents. He got excited thinking that the presents were for him,
and he just wagged his tail and barked and jumped around and
whimpered until we opened some of them.

Last year we got him a little Santa toy (with a little dog) that
sings "Jingle Bells" and he “sings” and yelps with it, he has the
time of his little life when we play it for him.)

Tonight my wife wrapped several presents for him, told him they
were his Christmas presents. Then she let him lick and sniff the
wrapped presents, told him very sternly NOT to bother them or
unwrap them until tomorrow morning. He followed her in to watch
her put them under the Christmas tree amongst other presents for
everybody else. He looked at them and whimpered when she shook
her head “no”, but didn’t bother them at all other than that.

Normally when I sit at the pc late in the evening and do my email
and internet surfing, he lays at or across my feet and goes to sleep.

A little while ago I noticed he wasn’t at my feet, so I went looking
for him. He had gone to the Christmas tree, and picked all of his
presents out (only his, didn’t miss one, but also didn’t get even one
that wasn’t his) and put them in a little pile right by the tree, and was
fast asleep, snoring, with his nose about an inch away from one of
his presents…

I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself.

Until I got this one, I haven’t had a dog since I was a kid. Never
knew a grown man could love a little dog so much. If you have one
you understand, if not, you don’t know what you are missing…

I have a wife and a little dog, and I know for sure that each of us
loves the other two a lot. I know what Christmas is really all about.
Anything else I get for Christmas is just icing on the cake.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

haha...i think i have the same one for my dog

anyways, i always wrap my dog's presents and give them a squeeze in front of him so they squeck...(mistake)...and i set them down and he sniffs them and walks away with me. Wellfor a few the night after, we left him hours while shopping and when we came home, he had dug out his gifts from the back of all of them and had wrapping paper all over the floor. Of course he played with each one enough that they were to messed up to wrap again. Funny thing is that he didnt bother any other present either.

of course, i didnt get mad at him because he looked so happy....i had to go out and buy him another toy so that he would have one to open up on christmas.

My parents had a dog a border collie shepard cross. She was a brilliant dog.
At christmas we would all be handed a gift except Chimo ( the dog). My step mother would say OK , Chimo and he would sniff the gifts , pick one up and look at her. She would say no that is so and so's, and she would put it down sniff some more. This went on untill she found one . When told ok, she would destroy it open by shaking the gift as if it were a mongoose she had caught. This went on several times untill all the presents were opened.

Always had a pleasant demeanor, as an adult I would only make back about every other year, When I was comming in from the airport , she would be waiting at the garage for me. When she was told i was coming back home she would go and wait for me.

sure do miss chimo.

Well, last night I got home from the airport at 11. Church started at 10:30, and my family was there. I came inside, threw my bags on the kitchen floor, and left. Came home from church at about 12, and I noticed plastic wrap all over the floor. At first, I didn't think anything of it because I didn't turn any lights on when I got home, just opened the door and threw my bags down. I looked at my backpack, and noticed that it's COMPLETLY open, and the box of thin mints was dragged out from DEEP inside my backpack. She then opened up the box of cookies, and ate the remaining 2/3s of the roll of cookies. She's only 14lbs...
