I drove a short wheel base 4x4 SLT Reg cab for a couple of years as a work truck. It also had the 4.7. Around town and off road it did great. But on the highway it was terrible. No power at the top end and did not ride very well.

My 05 5.4 4x4 Ford is much smoother on the highway, and way better on the power. Off road is just as smooth, but being an extra cab it's way longer and not as easy to get around.

The inside of the cab is bigger and has much better seats than the Ford. But given the choice (and I was) of keeping the Dodge or taking the Ford. It was a no brainer. Overall the Ford is the better choice.

So,

The 4.7 is a stout powerplant with a good reliability record. I am sure you will have great luck with it

Dodge is nothign to be proud of. Even though I'm a american lover when it comes to cars and trucks, I hate to admit it, but Dodge trucks are by far the worst built trucks to ever hit the roads. I agree with everybody here, it will fall apart faster then a blink of an eye.

how many second time Dodge owners do you guys know?? I don't know of any, they all find out the hard way the first time and either go back to Chevy or Ford.

So I suppose the Ridgeline & Tundra are better trucks?

The longest lasting truck I see on the road is always a Chevy. I really liked the 03 style too.

why were the 2 words "Ridgeline" and "Truck"
used in the same sentence???

You could hide under your truck. Besides, it'll look better afterwards....

Well, I see her plan is falling neatly into place.

Sell the Mustang, and get a Ram as a stop-gap measure. Next stop -- CARAVAN!!!

My grandpa is a 3rd time dodge owner, he's had a '73 Ram truck, '85 Ram Prospector 150, and a 97 Ram 1500

I had a 1996 Ram 1500 with the smaller V-8, and it took a beating over the course of 200k miles. No trannie problems, no engine problems, etc...

In every company, there's horror stories. There's good luck stories. Then there's the average customer satisfaction. If Dodge was really all that bad, do you really think they'd still be in business???

Have fun with the dodge, man. Personally (everyone else, please don't shoot), I like the way that body style looks. But, that's all IMO.

Nice Dodge! I just bought a new 06 single cab Dodge Ram for a DD. I need to keep the miles off the Lightning and Lariat. Mine looks just like yours except mine has the bigger headlamps and different rims, same color What engine did you go with? I got the 4.7 which is good for the single cab.

But he does have an awesome Belvedere so he's OK in my book!

Enjoy your truck closer, I'm sure you'll get many good miles out of it

The ram was my second choice.
The avalanche was my first.

I never thought I would be happy in a ford. But I do love the ford now that I have it. Except the colour. As soon as I can afford to paint it I will.

The avalanche was a little out of my price range.
My girlfriend drives a 2001 montana and it's a piece of ****.
Putting money into it like there is no tomorrow.

I traded in my crappy little sunfire for the truck. It was the best looking small car I could find. (had a 1 hour commute to work.) Now that I live 5 minutes from work the truck was affordable.

Merry Christmas everyone. :santa:
