are f150's any good
are f150's any good
New guy here
Ready to trade my 2000 Silverado 4x4
I have to say this truck has been perfect
I'm considering an 2007 F150 Lariat 4x4
I would appreciate any input as I have been away from Ford for about 15 years. Are these a good truck to buy.
Thanks for the help

used to be a Chevy guy myself.....will never go back.....test drove the new silverado last week......they made some nice changes.....but still falls short of my F150......
.....do yourself a favor.....make a list of the features YOU want.....then test drive them all......forget the "name"......get what feels right to you.....
....my only suggestion is to pay close attention to the quality of build to each truck.....take notice of the materials used and the structural integrity to the truck.....I am sure that the best will be clear as day.....

Well coming from a former chevy guy myself, I bought this 2000 2 years ago (used of course) I would have a hard time going back to chevy. For comparison, I drive a 2006 2500 for work on occasion. I'd take my 2000 1/2 ton Ford with 90K miles on the OD, over the 06 3/4 ton chevy with 1900 miles on the OD.
There are a few things I like on the 06 chevy, like the dual climate control and the trailer tow setting. I'd love to get those on the F150 mainly the dual climate control...... So I dont think it's not completely horriable either except for looks. but overall for ride, handeling, performance, comfort, pay load, passenger room, build quality and maintanence. I like my F150 ALOT more.

the F-150's strengths are its Frame/ride and interior. Ford should have put a bigger engine in such a heavy truck but the 5.4 does a pretty good job as is..
stock 5.4 numbers at the fly wheel are 300 @ 5,000 rpms and 365 lb/ft of torque @ 3,750 rpms..
and your not going to see anywhere near that much at the rear wheels.. these trucks have a 28% drivetrain loss..
basically im lettin ya know these are far from "fast" trucks so dont expect it to be.. expect it to be everything but fast..

Im Not Sure About The F-150 But I Have A F-250 5.4 L Gasoline Engine Just Like In The F-150 And This Guy I Know Has A Silverado 1500 And I Would Pay Twice As Much For The Ford! Ford Has Better Seats, Room, Looks, Looks, Looks, And In My Opiion Rides 100% Better!
