Is getting a trojan horse the end of the world?
Guys, my spysweeper detected a trojan horse in my computer and I was able to quarantine and delete it.
I am a noob to this crap and I thought I was protected. I googled trojan horses and got some info, but I'd like some real world suggestions on protection. Guys want to help a brother out?

How often do you update your spyware and your antivirus protection? this should be done at least once per week to be on the safe side. If your spyware caught it, (or antivirus protection) you should be Okie-Dokie as long as you quarantined it. You may have passed it on to others, though. I had a couple of alerts on my computer this weekend that something---trojan horse or worm---was trying to acces my computer but was negated and blocked.
I use Norton Anti-virus and Webroot Spysweeper, and haven't had a problem n a long, long time. You also might want to download Mozilla Firefox, as it has some really nice built-in protection, as well.
The last problem I had was last Christmas when my son went to a MySPace account and it opened up a "spyware program" and it tried to take control of my computer.
Again, if your spyware/antivirus found it, there is a good chance that you will be OK.

Depending on what program you have you can go to their website and type in the name of the trojan horse---it will let you know all the particulars, as well.

I use Norton ans spysweeper as well, spysweeper caught it as soon as it was present, opened, whatever. It was quarantined and deleted. Looks like I'm good then.
Yeah, normally itis my son or daughter when she is home from college--they go someplace where they shouldn't, and voila! Somepeople suggested Mozilla Firefox becasue of its built in protection.
Glad to hear you are gonna be fine.
