Please just keep the discussion to the tree, we don't need to know about your GF.

Til he sang Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad

Brother Ken brought his kids with him
The three from his first wife Lynn
And the two identical twins
From his second wife MaryNell
Of course he brought his new wife Kaye
Who talks all about AA
Chain smokin' while the stereo plays
Noel, Noel, The first Noel

Carve the turkey turn the ball game on
Mix Margaritas when the eggnog's gone
Send somebody to the Quik-Pak store
We need some ice and an extention cord
A can of bean dip and some Diet Rite
A box of tampons and some Marlboro Lights
Hallelujah everybody say cheese
Merry Christmas from the family

Fran and Rita drove from Harlingen
I can't remember how I'm kin to them
But when they tried to plug their motorhome in
They blew our christmas lights
Cousin David knew just what went wrong
So we all waited on our front lawn
He threw the breaker and the lights came on
And we sang Silent Night
Oh Silent Night

Carve the turkey turn the ballgame on
Make Bloody Marys cause we all want one
Send somebody to the Stop 'n Go
We need some celery and a can of fake snow
A bag of lemons and some Diet Sprite
A box of tampons and some Salem Lights
Hallelujah everybody say cheese
Merry Christmas from the family

Feliz Navidad

I may be mistaken, but was under the impression he wrote it. It is the only version I hear around the Texas stations.

Doesn't look my other fav manheim is going to make it to the Civic center this year, but I toured Chip's studio a few years back.

A lot of people don't realize that "Manheim" is the same guy who worked on the "old home fillerup and keep on a trucking cafe jingles" with "CW McCall"
Best I can tell, the whole TSO/Metallica thing is an urban legend, no doubt started because of 3 things....first, TSO does collaborate with popular artists from time to time, second, the guitar is noticeably heavy in this particular track, and third, TSO rose to prominence about the time Metallica did the whole S&M thing. Folks connected to TSO have stated that they did not work with Metallica on this track.

And you'll have better luck finding TSO in your town than Chip Davis, as you don't really see "the" TSO touring...you see *part* of TSO. If you check their site, it would look like they can be in two places at once. They split into a couple of groups for their Christmas tour in order to maximize their income during their most profitable time period, but come back together for recording and high profile appearances. Whereas Chip really *is* Mannheim Steamroller, so he can only do so many appearances.

Having been born in Omaha, I have a little extra (Husker?) fondness for Mannheim..tho maybe it's also from listening to so much of it as bumper music during the pre-druggie, pre-corporate-wonk years of Rush...
