I have gotten that pic in emails several times, I think it's freakin hilarious. One of the funniest belly button tattoos I have seen and I have seen a bunch, several being x rated. Why someone would get something like that I dunno, still tryin to figure out why I have gotten the 12 I have
Matt, you know that says "I wear women's thongs" in Japanese, right?!
Oh trust me, I did this translation right... I paid a translation service to translate it and then I got the advice of everyone I could find that spoke Chinese or Japanese to make sure... went to chinese restaurants, chinatown here in Denver with a chinese friend of mine to make sure they weren't bs'ing me, even posted it to a few internet sites and asked people to make sure it read the right thing, it took me about 3 months before I was 100% confident in what it said that I got it done... I've heard WAY too many stories of people going in for a "strength" tattoo and ending up with a "boy with small ******" tattoo and never knowing it until someone points it out to them. My own sister in law went in to get the initials of her three kids tattooed on her in Kanji (Chinese/Japanese), I didn't have the heart to tell her that American letters have no chinese equivalent, so she probably just got some sort of scribble tattooed on her. For example, there is no "A" or "B" in chinese. All the charachters represent sounds and syllables, and some words might be just one charachter, or they could be a combination of charachters... for example, Dog is one charachter, friend is one charachter, love is one charachter, but life is two charachters. Soulmate is actually 4 charachters. Did you know to read a chinese newspaper you have to be familiar with some 6000 different charachters, and they say there are approximately 10,000 charachters in the entire language. Freaky!
I'm not into the Chinese because its "trendy" to have tattooed, but the words themselves wer eboring and I really think the kanji is cool looking. Plus, whoever i'md ating at the time I can say "its your name in chinese!" LOL.
