You don't have to like it or buy it, but, that doesn't mean that truck won't be the best on the market in just over 30 days.
You don't have to like it, just deal with it.

Thanks! You're right, I never said they were related.
Yep, I drove M-35A2 (Deuce & a half's) on and off for 10 years in the Army.
10 wheel, 6 x 6 Inline 6 cylinder multi-fuel engine, that could out-tow, and out haul any F-150, F-250, or F-350 on the planet. Maybe even the 450 and 550 too.
I have had 48 reels of CX-11230 cable in the bed of a deuce (@ 147 lbs each) along with an RL-202 reeling Machine (502 lbs) for a total of 7,558 lbs (payload), towing a support trailer with another 64 reels of CX-11230 (9,408 lbs) plus another 5,000 - 6,000 lbs of cargo (tents, cots, stoves, MRE's, TA-50, not to mention all the tools, and the weight of the trailer itself, in a truck itself that weighs 11,000 lbs Empty (I wonder where the term 2.5 ton ever came from?!) all with a 130+ HP inline 6 cylinder, turbocharged engine, at 45 - 60 MPH cross country, in a truck that has been around since WWII.
Now, I know the 300 HP (Pwerstroke) with 600 lb. ft/torque F-350 can tow 15,000 lbs too; but I bet it can't tow 15,000 lbs, with another 8,000 in the bed, off road.
So yes, I am well aware that HP and towing capability are not related... If that were true, A BMW 760Li or a Corvette would make fools of all our trucks, and a 297 HP Acura RL, 327 HP WRX STi, 306 HP Infiniti G35 or a 306 HP Lexus IS350 would all be on par- with a trailer attached. We all know that would not be the case.

And, wait until the next gen comes out. This was a very decent first attempt. They will only get better with time. But, with Toyota taking the game to near 400 HP (380), it's got to stop somewhere, and I think when Ford (Or Honda, whoever does it first) incorporates better fuel efficiency, more capable diesel engines into the light duty line up, will we see the horsepower wars come to an end.
If not, you'll soon read:
Come test drive the new 2013, 560 HP Ford F-150 at your Ford dealer, now.

Not yet . . .
Besides the standard 5.6 V8 380HP (seen here in extended cab at the LA Auto show this week)

They are introducing a Lightning / SRT10 type high performance standard cab version:

After this truck comes out, I'm going to be laughing at how many of y'all who are dising it, actually get to see one and maybe test drive it and come away impressed. Make no mistake, the new Tundra has NOTHING to do with the current version. It's big, it's powerful, and it's well built. And when that high performance version out, you're going to see a lot of ex-Lightning owners seriously considering it.
Yeah, yeah . . . I know . . .
"It's ugly, it's Jap, it sucks, it isn't a Ford . . . " blah blah blah.
Wait till it comes out.
Then look at it. Then drive it . . . then decide.
While we have Matty wound up....
Toyota beats Ford again, GM, Chrysler sales up
And the Mattineers of the world wept.

Damn man, they're going to rip into the former L's and the current SRT-10s with that bad boy.
Especially if the base model truck is putting out 380hp! Mind you my SVT Cobra puts out 390 (per SVT specs, dyno actually proves it to be about 450hp) none the less, that's one powerfull truck.
How much tq will the Tundra have? Ls currently have 390/450, if the Tundra has 380/450~500 then our "Former worlds fastest truck" will be in jepordy from a REGULAR production model.
Food for thought.
i think they look alright
i would rather have a new tacoma though
but what i think is stupid is how theyre going half *** with their "double cab"
the picture posted a few above this of the blue one at the car show the guy listed it as an ext cab.
toyotas site is calling it a double cab
they took a door like on the ford supercab , extended the door, put the handle on the outside back ,but left a half size window
stupid if you ask me
