online and work, can they see you?

our company finally put in new computers with windows xp and 100mps dsl. can they remotely see where you are looking? ie this forum. i know the undesirable sites and won't go there, but how much do they really know? and what to look out for and or do so they can't? would like to jump on the forums once in awhile so i don't have to at home.

Your a fool if you think they can't. If they want to, they can know everything you do during the day. If your a good employee and do your job odds are you've got nothing to worry about. If your a slacker and give your employer a reason to can you they can produce everything you've done and fire your ****. Talk with your boss about personal internet time. Read and understand your companies policies.

If you're surfing on the company's service and equipment I'll guarantee you that they can find out exactly where you are going and what is being said. The reality, as previously stated, is that they probably don't care, as long as you are not visiting unsavory sites and your work is being satisfactorily completed.

The question is, "Could F150online be considered an 'unsavory' site?"

It is very very easy (assuming your IT guys aren't morons) to log and track everything you do on the net.

I have logs of everything and yes I know people surf but unless their boss complains or a problem develops I never say a word (can you say hypocrite?)

I tell every new employee that everything is logged including email content and providing they don't abuse it, not to worry but don't expect their activity not to be at least logged.

Yep, Ollie North thought he could tell Congress any damn thing,

so long as he had hit the 'Delete' key that morning.

They can sit there and watch your desktop without you noticing. We have VNC on our computers at work. I doubt they use it much, but you wouldn't have a clue if they did. I've played around with WINVNC at the house and you can control a desktop with hardly any problems...

They let us play with it in networking class. You could load notepad and type to them on there computer. It really simple to use. I imagine if you had a fast enough connection you could work at home over it.
