thinking of getting F150

hi everyone, i'm thinking of buying either 04 or 05 F150 crewcab with 4x4.

What are the problems i can expect with this truck?

Usually, the biggest problem is spending too much to mod them. Welcome.

thanks for the welcome guys.

today i test drove the 04 F150 Crewcab; i think it was the FX something model with leather.

i can see why F150 is #1 selling truck.

great handling, almost like a car
very quiet interior (we were going 130km/hr) and you'd never know without looking at speedo!

apart from little things like cheap interior materials and so-so rear view, my only serious complaint is the engine. indeed, it lacks power.

also, why the premium model has shifter mounted on floor? the base models have it on steering column. sounds backwards to me.

I'd personally stay away from '04 model year trucks. That was the first year of the new bodystyle, and it is my opinion that the '05-and-up trucks have been less troublesome than the first-year models. This makes sense, as it would take a year or so for the manufacturer to identify any problems missed during the design and testing process, and implement the appropriate corrections to the build and design of a vehicle.
