Check out my little visitor

Walked outside today to see my wife off to work. She looked over my shoulder and asked me if I put that owl up on the light.

Can you see him?

If not here's a closer look.

Thought it was pretty cool just wanted to share it with you guys and gals.

Very pretty, but I still can't find him in the first pic.

Smallest owl I've ever seen...

Then again, I've only seen three in life, but the one I did see was pretty big. 12-15 inches tall, perched, easily.

I agree with you on that
I think the flash went off on the camera and it interupted his nap.
I was out putting up the Christmas decorations all day long and he never left.
He finally flew away this evening around sundown.
I told him he was welcome back anytime he wanted...and please eat the rats that use the power lines as mass transit

Anybody have any idea what kind of owl he is???

Definitely in the horned owl family...

When you start seeing nocturnal creatures (skunks, raccoons, etc..) in the daytime, either something has disrupted their usual area, or they may be rabid... In this case- with him being so small, I'd say he got lost from Momma, or this was one of it's first days away from the nest.
