I don't know if this was posted yet but, did you guys see what's happening with this PS3 stuff. People getting shot at, people running like it's the end of mankind. They are selling on e-bay right now for around 3 grand. One is on there for almost 10 grand. If your stupid enough to pay that much you deserve to get screwed. Just wait alittle bit and you'll be able to get one.

All the free publicity Sony is getting...they are loving it and they don't get associated with the bad stuff. Rumor has it they are having so many production problems that units will be in seriously short supply.

I played a PS3 Tuesday night at Wal-Mart. For a $600 console, I was NOT impressed. Yes, it looks awesome on HDTV, but I dont own an HDTV yet. The load times were bad too (I hope it was just because it was a demo). The controller is a little light, but feels absolutely WONDERFUL in my hand. The rumble feature is gone. No more rumble feature. A replacement controller cost $50.

Oh yeah, and unlike the XBOX 360, all online gaming is FREE ! ! !

I'm getting the Wii for sure. Not because it's Nintendo, but because the controller is gonna be freakin AWESOME ! ! ! I cant wait to play Zelda

 

I've got a Wii on pre-order for my boy for Christmas and I've got Zelda sitting on the side...it will suck not to play it until Christmas but he'll have a blast.

I'm sure the PS3 is amazing but like you said...not $600+ amazing. I'll wait until the price comes down and they work the bugs out.

 

Exactly...and the same goes for me on the price drop. I bought the PS2 at lauch last time and played the full price, I wont do that crazy shat again. As a matter of fact, I still have an original launch PS2 and it runs great (knock on wood).

I am pumped about the Wii. It's my B-Day present from the wifey. Me and the kiddo are gonna have a blast. I cant wait.

 

I just want a PS3 right now so I can sell it to some retard on ebay for a ton of money..then next year when the price comes down, Ill maybe go get myself one.

So whats with the Wii? Is it really all that? I seen a commercial for it the other day and I'm not sure the hand held, remote control looking thing is really that cool...am I missing something?

We had people camp out in from of a Best Buy here for a week. The news channel interviewed them last night. I think there were 28 people waiting in line with tents all along the front of the store. About 20 of them said they would sell their spot in line and the unit and tent and everything they brought with them for over a thousand dollars. Almost everyone of them said they plan to purchase and resell for 3-4x what they paid for them.

Its funny they were staying at this store because the store did not open until 8am this morning. The store had 28 units and there were 28 people in line. They were guaranteed a PS3 because the store came and took their names and were going to give them vouchers.

I say it it was funny because the offical release time was at midnight and there were other stores open at that time. These idiots waited in line all that time and they still had to wait another 8 hrs after the thing is released to pick theirs up. The other stores were only getting 7 or 8 units though, so this store had the largest shipment here in town.

I just don't get it for a video game. I have never played any playstation console. I used to a Nintendo and Sega and now I have a Gamecube, but it hardly ever gets played.

 

Some of Edwards staff tried to get Walmart to get a PS3 for his kid the day after he had a speech criticizing Walmart.

I fail to see how the PS3s people are camping out in front of the stores for, or buying off EBay for insane dollars, will be any different than the PS3 I'll buy sometime next year after the hype dies down.

 

Yeah the 4 people shot at Lexington's Best Buy is just a few miles from were I live, it was only a bb gun but still. The silly thing is the nerds had been camping there since Monday or Tuesday.

If you add up all the features the PS3 has, it's a bargain.

 

Maybe, but for gamers like me, the ones that want to play GAMES, it's not. All those extra's aren't for everyone.

 

Oh well, maybe Sony doesn't know what they are doing.
