Ok, I've invented a new mixed drink...

So, a few months ago I discovered Absolut Ruby Red vodka. I tend to drink vodka on the rocks as my "adult" drink, and have favored many of the orange vodkas, Grey Goose Orange in particular, for a few years. Since starting with the Ruby Red (on the rocks) I've been thinking that it would be a great base for mixed drinks. After much experimenting, I came up with the following, served straight up, martini style...

1) 1.5 oz Absolut Ruby Red
2) 1.5 oz Dark Rum (Barcadi is my preference)
3) 1.5 oz White Tequila (have Patron on hand)
4) 0.5 oz Roses Lime Juice
5) 2.0 oz Orange Juice
6) 2.0 oz Pineapple Juice
7) Dash of Grenadine

Shake in a shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass. Add another dash of Grenadine for color.

Wow. These things are great. Wonderful citrus flavor, with just the right amount of kick.

Just had to share...what are your favorite "home-made" drink recipies?

sounds good- i'll switch out tequila for some bombay sapphire in a margarita on the rocks every once in a while
it may sound odd--gin instead of tequila, but its pretty good...

Mmmmmmm...I'll have to try that. But I don't have all that on hand. Guess I'll have to re-stock my bar.

Frozen mango chunks, equal ice cubes. Blend with tequilla, shot of Grand Marnier.
Blend into a smoothy.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed... straight up on the rocks (adult drink). Allow the ice to melt just slightly for a minimal 'cut'.

Otherwise, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat.

Mine is like me fast, easy to make but always hard.

Jacked Up -
Fill cup with ice, then add desired amount of Sourmash Whiskey in desired or convienent glass or cup (desired amount tends to increase as consomption builds). (I ussually start with 2 shots +/-)
Top off the glass or cup with 7-up, add a slice of lemon to the rim for a little more zang or a chaser if needed. Drink with a straw, keeping straw as close to the bottom as possiable.

Gosh, I can't remeber the last time I had a hard drink. Last Christmas I had some Egg Nogg with a spot of rum, but never finished it. I tend to stick to beer, particularly micro-brews. I do like a Long Island Iced tea, but can never remeber what's in it to make one.

I invented one once. It's called Smurf ****.

1 pt Blue Curacao
1 pt Sweet n Sour
Fill with Sprite/7up.

The result is a blue drink that I call "smurf ****." Enjoy!
