Require the Iraqis to take responsibility for their country and begin the phased redeployment of US forces from Iraq in 2006. Double the size of Special Forces to destroy Osama Bin Laden and terrorist networks like al Qaeda. Rebuild a state-of-the-art military capable of projecting power wherever necessary. Implement the bipartisan 9/11 Commission proposal to secure America’s borders and ports and screen 100% of containers. Fully man, train, and equip our National Guard and our police, firefighters and other first responders. Honor our commitments to our veterans.

BETTER AMERICAN JOBS - BETTER PAY
Prohibit the Congressional pay raise until the nation’s minimum wage is raised. End tax giveaways that reward companies for moving American jobs overseas.

COLLEGE ACCESS FOR ALL
Make college tuition deductible from taxes, permanently. Cut student loan interest rates. Expand Pell Grants.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE - LOWER GAS PRICES
Free America from dependence on foreign oil and create a cleaner environment with initiatives for energy-efficient technologies and domestic alternatives such as biofuels. End tax giveaways to Big Oil companies and enact tough laws to stop price gouging.

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE - LIFE-SAVING SCIENCE
Fix the Medicare prescription drug program, putting seniors first by negotiating lower drug prices and ending wasteful giveaways to drug companies and HMOs. Promote stem cell research that offers real hope to millions of American families who suffer from devastating diseases.

RETIREMENT SECURITY AND DIGNITY
Stop any plan to privatize Social Security, in whole or in part. Enact real pension reform to protect employees’ financial security from CEO corruption and mismanagement, including abuse of the bankruptcy laws. Expand personal savings incentives.
Ok. My question: how.

Looks good to me.

On the 'how' part you'll have to be patient, they are still measuring for drapes.

Same old thing, make all kinds of promises that are impossible to deliver. The best one so far was that goofy new speaker of the house, Mrs Pusky or whatever was quoted as saying "an impeachment of George Bush was not even on the table". Well, I guess not, he has not done an impeachable act. You may not agree with his policy but you can't impeach for that. A stupid comment.

They dont need to learn to speak english. We publish pretty much every legal form in multiple languages. Give test for DL's in multiple languages. We have TV and radio broadcast in multiple languages. People that dont speak english can more than likely find a neighborhood where their native language is spoken and the storefront signs are in their native language. Who needs english? Heck, I dont think english is even an official language in this country, except for that one small town somewhere in Pa, and they caught he!! for that.

This is easy to say and tough to do. Unlike some of the items below, this military is actually listed as a function of the federal government in the US Constitution, so it is hard to argue with this item.

BETTER AMERICAN JOBS - BETTER PAY
Prohibit the Congressional pay raise until the nation’s minimum wage is raised. End tax giveaways that reward companies for moving American jobs overseas.
Raising the minimum wage--bad. That makes American low-skilled workers less competitive and foreign/illegal labor more attractive. Who actually makes minimum wage? I made more than minimum wage working in a grocery store in high school. The Dems are pushing this issue partly because Union contracts are often pegged to the minimum wage and partly as a class warfare issue.

COLLEGE ACCESS FOR ALL
Make college tuition deductible from taxes, permanently. Cut student loan interest rates. Expand Pell Grants.
College education is important, but it isn't one of the functions of the federal government in the Constitution, so I generally don't support expanding these programs.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE - LOWER GAS PRICES
Free America from dependence on foreign oil
LOL! Anyone have a Mr. Fusion laying around the house?

and create a cleaner environment with initiatives for energy-efficient technologies and domestic alternatives such as biofuels. End tax giveaways to Big Oil companies and enact tough laws to stop price gouging.
If the Dems go after Big Oil for price gouging, most US corporations better be scared. Big Oil's margins are much lower than many US companies. Microsoft, for instance, has much higher margins than Big Oil. Who is this Big Oil anyway? I have lots of US Oil stock in S&P index funds and oil-related industries. Does that make me Big Oil? A huge percentage of the US has oil stock in one form or another!

The current drug plan was a massive entitlement that, once again, doesn't appear in the US Constitution. There's no right to free health care. I didn't support the first plan and I don't support any expansion of the plan.

Federal Funding for stem cell research is already approved, so I'm not sure what more the Dems think they are going to accomplish other than making this a talking point.

I absolutely disagree with their stance on Social Security. I can do a better job managing my SS money than the Federal Government can. Right now, I doubt if I'll ever get the money I've already paid.

I only have one vehicle financed but I like many others so I think I should get all the vehicles that I like. I'll need a new garage, but it'll have to be a two story. Actually I think I'll have to sell this house and get a bigger one with enough property to put up a big garage. That garage will need twenty bays, each with a lift. Come to think of it, I may not be near my garage when I want to drive one of the vehicles, so I think that I'll have to have a series of satellite garages. These garages will have to be throughout the state because I don't want to feel trapped in my home town. I live in a small state though so maybe I should have a house in every state, with vehicles in satellite garages throughout the state so that I can feel at home where ever I am.

Wow. I've come up with a great plan here. Now, how to pay for it. Hmmmm...

Ya know, I thought it was odd that, not only were drapes the first thing W thought about, but that he also knows some good interior designers. Guess, "once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader".
