What a loss

Sounds like the white house is avoiding a war with the newly elected house.

My bad, I was listening to the Press conference.

I could have posted earlier but, when I did a cartwheel I threw my back out and had to crawl to the keyboard.

Well, my post was:
Bush is cornered and needs to call a two minute time out.

Stay Presidential.
because early on, the press was nipping at his heels and he was losing it.
I don't want the Office embarrassed.

He has settled down nicely.

The GOP lost the election by themselves. The Democrats could not have won without the GOPs corruption and scandals. But it's still a "W" in the win column.

Cheney is on his hands and knees, begging Rumsfeld not to write a book.

I agree.. I doubt a lot of people even know who they voted for yesterday (they can sure tell you who they voted against though.)

I'm going to miss the complete disdain that Rummy showed for the press. I enjoyed his press conferences.

About 72 hours and one lost election too late.
And...remember that Bush insisted to the end this was not a referendum on the Iraq war.
As happy as I am to see Rumsfield go, and it goes way beyond the present situation, if Bush fired him for "losing the election for the Republicans" then I have incredibly less respect for Bush than I did at 12:00 pm and that was not a whole lot.
