When you have Little Cuba, Little Italy, Little Mexico, Little Korea, Little......
We are creating a scenario similar to the Balkins. The Koreans you speak of are in small numbers and while I don't like the idea that they don't assimilate into our American culture they aren't a direct threat.
However, Mexicans are flooding this country to the tune of almost a million a year. They have no interest in America nor do they swear allegiance to it.

We're ceasing to be that when you have hundreds of thousands of people who want to retain their own culture, their own language, their own loyalty. What do we have in common that makes us fellow Americans? Is it simply citizenship? Or is it blood, soil, history and heroes?
It’s hilarious how people can argue, just for the sake of arguing. There is nothing to this debate. People are here in our country, illegally. Deport them NOW! Take everything that they have gained from our country because they didn't earn it legally. I don't have one bit of a problem with people being in our country of different backgrounds, just do it legally.

There is a debate here....

Sorry, had to go hit some golf *****...ok, I think some are missing my point or I'm just not explaining myself very well...my guess it's the latter.
So, we have people here in this country that shouldn't be here. I agree. I think we all can agree that they can be here if they go thru the correct process. This process takes time and money. Correct?? All I was trying to say in the beginning was; we are using a lot of time, money and effort trying to either stop them from coming in or rounding them up for deportation. Instead of using that same time and money (nothing extra) to go toward helping them stay. I agree there are some that will not comply in anyway. Those people, well, you can try to deport them, but as the article stated they appear to be pretty mobile. You may get some, but not all.
Now, as far as stopping them from coming in. The new plan is to build a wall. I honestly don't believe a wall will stop them. I don't believe that anything will stop them from coming in. Except making it unattractive to them to come to the U.S. To do this I believe you go after the companies that employ illegals (one of the points I agreed w/in the original article but forgot to mention). If this country were not so great people wouldn't want to come here.
Now what to do w/the ones that are already here. Like it or not most, not all and maybe not even most contribute in a beneficial way. Those I think we should help become citizens. Not all illegals shun the English language, not all are a burden, so rounding them all up is kinda overkill. I've met plenty that want to only converse in English so they can learn faster.
I don't think there is a easy or straight forward solution to this problem.
And Vader,
I happen to like the Little (fill in a country). They have been around since the turn of the century (the other one, not the last one) and they have some great restaurants. Plus, in Okinawa there is a Little America that from what I saw is embraced by the local populace. Just one example I know of.
