injured atv rider

hey guys. i have a friend who was injured last memorial weekend while 4 wheeling with his friend and her children, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to help him out a little. he flipped his wheeler backwards and at the time we thought broke his ankle. it turns out the break was so bad that he wound up losing his leg beneath the knee.
long story short he is now out of work, and had no insurance to pay the med bills. the prosthetic leg that will allow him to get back on his feet and hopefully feel a little more like himself is priced at nearly $20,000.
we have set up a fund at a local bank to help him out, if you could lend a hand of any amount please send the funds to:

Jerry Ward's public benefit fund
C/O Waukesha State Bank
PO Box 648
Waukesha Wi 53187

I would love to help out, but I have a baby on the way and will be saving every penny so I can pay for that.

You might suggest that someone set-up a Paypal account as that might make it easier for people to give.

All it takes is a few minutes to sign up. There is no cost, although I believe they do verify your address by having you enter a credit card number that they will post a $1.00 charge to.

Not to be a ****, but you are asking people you don't really know to give money to someone they don't really know. People put their account info on the internet everyday. Are there scams out there, of course. I will almost guarantee that if you were to get a paypal account, your donations would go up greatly.

Also, I think that there might be an organization called Rider Down. I am not for sure on the name and exactly who they cover (motorcycles, atv's, etc?). Go to a website called ktmtalk.com and you will probably find more info on that organization or others like them.

Good luck.

I understand exactly what you're saying about asking. I thought the same thing when I was assked at times before, and I gave though only a little. I know the account thing would work, and believe it would greatly increase the benefit.
I will check those websites, thanks very much for the info. Any help is better than none right?

Sorry to hear about your friend. I'd help, but I have too many bills myself. Prayers go out to your friend and his family and friends.
