Removing Yahoo's toolbar

Well, how do I do it, short of setting the computer on fire?

I downloaded Yahoo Messenger, because I wanted to listen to Yahoo Music at work (they've got Websense at work, and logging into Yahoo Music through normal channels means I have to use quota time, which I only get one hour a day of; Yahoo Messenger would have let me bypass that).

I unchecked every service before installation except Yahoo Messenger, and the @#$%! piece 'o crap installs the frickin' toolbars anyways. Uninstalling the toolbar using the "Add/Remove programs" option in the Control Panel got rid of it on Internet Explorer, but it's still there in Firefox. Tried using System Restore, no dice. Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, no dice. Heeeeeelp!

And on a side note, I'm gonna write someone at Yahoo a nasty E-mail, telling them how I don't appreciate them installing things on my computer that I specifically didn't want - not that it'd really matter, but still. I'll be cancelling my Yahoo Music account as well.

Edit - I found it. Stupid Yahoo.

Can't you just go to My Computer and click on Add/Remove Programs?

Quintin,

That is odd that it installed it even if you said not to. If you have the time, I'd get rid of the entire messenger, and then try reinstalling it.

I guess I did. Forgive me, I'm extremely tired. Just tried to help out.

Guess we both missed it.

Haha. Yeah, that's just the way I do it. It's late, and I'm tired. So I just skimmed across the post hoping to help. Looks like he got it taken care of.

Well, now that I know how to remove the toolbars, I may try downloading Yahoo Messenger again tomorrow. I dunno yet; still pretty cheesed about 'em installing stuff when I specifically requested that it not be installed.
