Fall Weekend in North Carolina

Since there are a couple of "Fall pics" posts, I thought I'd add some of mine:

Those are apples in that last pic.

Where exactly in WNC are those pics? I've been by that dam a hundred times, but the name escapes me at the moment. For another nice drive, head to Cataloochee; beautiful scenery, and you get to see the elk!

Big TRQ: Sorry, but I don't remember that dam. We stayed in a cottage near Banner Elk. Our friend drove us all over the place in their Lincoln Aviator. Our '01 L handled the trip very well btw, getting 15.67 mpg.

Great Pics. My brother was just up there last week. My friends aunt used to own a lodge on Beech Mountain. I am planning a trip back to Grandfather Mountain later this year or March/April next year. We get no colors here in Florida, it sucks. Flat and hot... love the mountains..

LD: We were staying with friends in this cottage that was in sight of Grandfather Mountain:

Only about $1500 for the month if I remember what my friend said.

Wow, awesome place. My friend just inherited her dads house due to his unforunate recent death. It's a rental property, we stayed there last 4th of July. We were on the backside of Grandfather Mountain. I love that area.. we were in Boone, i think. About a 25 min. drive to the park..

Hey, i was just thru Warner Robbins in June as well. I did the Hot Rod Power Tour, we had a stop in Perry at the big festival grounds. We stayed in Warner Robbins for the night. PLus, my scout troop has camped at the base there on a summer camp trip to N.C. one year,..

Thanks y'all. LD: Yes, I remember the show in Perry. Saw several rods on my way back from Bassin' just South of Perry on that weekend.
