While primarily for Suburban/Yukon owners, this is one of the best forums out there,

I also like this one for GM overall:

Looking for a diesel forum? I'd recommend thedieselstop.com. They cover Chevy, Dodge, Ford and GMC diesel trucks. I am sure your friend will find what he's looking for there.

I like www.chevytruckworld.com

Heavy on ads, but the old bodystyle sections have lots of good info and good people.

For the last year it's the first time we haven't had a pre 88 chevy truck or K5 sittin around. Great trucks.

I agree,I have a friend with an 87 Jimmy that has taken more abuse than every vehicle I've ever owned combined. He and his brother do some serious mudding.Sometimes they need skidders to pull thier trucks out. The old Jimmy is still his daily driver.
