Finally got to watch it the other night.......

WOW!!!!!




Now I'm awaiting the release of The Marine

 

I thought it was fun to watch, that's about it. The book was a lot better - and that's not saying much.

Jarhead was terrible. The previews literally contained every sectyion of action in the entire movie.

 

The action I didn't find that great, nothing very stimulating in anyway. I htink I'm turning into a woman in my old age, iyt was the emotional turmoil and mental anquish that got me.

 

Yeah.

I liked it. It was rather interesting to see that side of the Corps again.

 

How did you like the home video of the guys wife with the neighbor? That dirty B!

 

I've seen that first hand when I was in Okinawa. I didn't see the video, but a guy in my platoon wife's did that to him.

Talk about someone going ape *****.

If that would've happened to me, I would be in for life right now. I'm a very, VERY vengeful bastard.

 

It's not me and it pisses me off to no end. A woman that would do that should be strung up by the neck slowly and choked till she quits trying. For the dude, he should be branded on the forhead and beat by every american man that sees him. Our men are over there fighting for us, the least we could do was fight for him while he's away.

I'm not vengful.... I prefer to think of it as Just.

 

I agree, it wasn't really much to write home about action wise. But I think it was a pretty accurate description of how Marines felt sitting around in the middle of BFE waiting for the defecation to hit the oscillation in Iraq the first go-around. I'd probably be bored out of my mind too, doing dumb s@#% just to pass the time.

 

Many times its another guy in the military...

 

Doesn't that **** you off when the previews lead you to believe a movie is gonna be great and it turns out that the best parts were the previews and everything else in between sucked?

 

I thought, for the most part, Jarhead was a bad cartoon about what the military is like. I hated that movie.

Happened to one of the NCO's in my unit, back in the 80's. He was married to a beautiful German girl who decided she wanted to go back to Germany. He treated her like gold, too; but, you don't bring a woman like that to Fort Polk, LA for their first taste of the USA. I don't know what makes a woman think that is a good way to get out of a relationship; but, it happens more frequently than you'd guess.... The fairer sex my tail.

 

The previews completely mislead you on this movie. I'm not saying it isn't very good, just that it is completely different than depicted in the trailers and ledins.
