Tree stand

It's bow season and I'm looking for a climbing tree stand under or about $200, any ideas.

I would buy the Tree Lounge.. You can find them on Ebay for $250 to $300... A little out of your price range but well worth it and they'll last you a long time.

Around $1000, more if you want nicer equipment. This will give you a relative Idea of how much I spent...Here is a list of what I use every hunting season-
Remington 700 30-06 W/ Leupold VXII $750
Kimber TLE .45 $850
Ammo $60
Clothes $350
Knife $60
Binoc's $100
Blind and Chair $120
Treestand $200
+ Food, Gas and other Misc. Crap...
I spent a lot more than most... But I'd figure $1000 would get you everything you need. Just keep in mind these big bore rifles eat some pretty expensive food. My ammo for the -06 is $23/box.

This year i bought a ground blind. Its an escape pro and stands tall and is totally portable so i can move around so much better than a tree stand.

95'F-150 if you want to get into hunting there are many things to consider here. how much are you willing to spend. You can get a pump shotgun for ~200 bucks new. Hunting clothes well you could wear your winter gear and just cover up with some cheaper camo, or orange. Tree stands climbers are a you get what you pay deal. Try hunting from a ground blind that you have made yourself the first year and invest next year if you like it. shells are cheap for a smooth bore shotgun 5 for 2 bucks. now rifle bullets are more maybe lots more. Check your state hunting site for more info on safety courses and license info.

I know this sounds stupid but what do you guys do in the stand while you wait? Also how long at one time do you stay up there?

Would it be wise to buy a used gun or should I just go buy a pump shotgun like you were says for $200?

Man you opened a real big can of worms here bud!!. Lets see what do i do to amuse myself for countless hours in a stand. Well maybe you can use your imagination . Just kidding here, I sometimes take a book, I have 2 way radios, or you do what i do most times and just enjoy the quiet, the beauty of nature, the simple sounds of life, reflect back, Being in the woods is a great stress reliever, Remember this>>>"The deer is just a bonus". Being in the woods at one with nature leaves little to do so just relax, look for movement, use your eyes to look around don't move your head look for an ear to flick, a tail to move, an eye to blink, a branch to crack and you will be rewarded 10 fold. If a 10 point bucks walks in range from your stand you will feel IT right away if you don't then leave the woods hunting is n ot for you. You will know what "IT" is right away its a rush like no other and i hope you get to feel it soon. Good luck.

You could buy a used gun but for what a shotgun costs these days get yourself a new one.

HAHA, what a good/weird question. What I do is sit as still and quiet as possible for the most part. You increase your chances usually in the morning or in the evening just before dark as deer move to and from there feeding area to there bedding area. I usually sit in the stand anywhere form a few hours to damn near all day. I take a little food and water and sometimes a book to pass the time. You have to do some preseason scouting to know where the deer are. Looking for rubs, scrapes, sheeit, and traveled areas were food is available. You also have to know what the deer is thinking when you see it. It could know there there and not show it. Lots of detail.

I use a shotgun if I am hunting in thick wooded area. I usually take my Winchester 7mag short mag. This gun will put a hole in a deer big enough to stick your fist in. I also hunt with my Martin bow alot too. Depends on how willing you are and how much time you spend doing this. If it's just for a few times a year, don't spend a lot.

I use a ground blind so i can touch myself often if the need arises (so to speak) I am completley concealed, no scent, so i mcan dance inside if i choose to..
