leaving this forum

I was gone for about 6 weeks and in that time, I have received next to zero junk mail. I visited this site a half dozen times since I've been back and guess what.
The junk mail started again, so as an experiment, I will leave again for an extended time to see if my junk mail drops off again. If it does, that proves to me that this site is mined (either by member or a third party)for addresses.

Anyone else find this happening?

No, I have a system that automatically puts junk mail in the trash, so never get any.

I haven't noticed anything like that. (Knocks on wood)

I run Mozilla Firefox with a number of extensions that block pretty much ALL adware and assorted crap that you find on sites on the intarweb.

Never post your e-mail address online in a public forum. Not that you didn't already know that already. Try taking it out of your profile, if it's there.

I'm pretty sure that google.com datamines the chit out of site that they're linked into.

Most the junk mail I get is my own doing. And yea; I have something called a spam filter.

No junk spam here, and if something comes in I don't know what it is, I report it as spam and am done with it.

my junk mail also goes to the junk file automatically, but when I get 8-10 penile lengthening, prescription drug deals, etc., per day, that's a bit much. They are still finding their way to my computer and I don't need that crap.
Also, my sign-up address is a hotmail account. The junk comes to my regular mailbox, not hotmail.
And I also use Mozilla.

What next??

Must be coming from a source that knows your shortcomings.

Have you run anything to check your system for a trojan or other bug? Adaware SE is pretty good, I think Lavasoft puts it out. It's free for personal use.

OK, boys and girls.
It has been great chatting with you, and it is a great site, but the experiment starts now. I will be back to check on things now and again, but I won't sign in.
Take care, drive safe and love your neighbours.:santa:

Been there, done that, and always de-bug my computer regularly.

I have my e-mail set up so anything I don't authorize goes to junk mail.

No junk mail here. Maybe you should lay off the **** sites for a while.

Its something else....mining email addresses just from your posting would be quite difficult.

I get almost no junk email to my gmail account and that is the one linked to this site.
