I dont think some realize how bad off Ford really is at this point, they LOST $254 Million in this past second quarter and their stock sits at a horrid $8.39 a share.

Hopefully with their new CEO they can live up to their "Bold Moves" advertising claims, which seems to be a laughing stock of the automotive arena at this point.

It's about time he stepped down. Just because you have your name on the building doesn't mean you're qualified to run it.

Only time will tell. I think part of the reason he got burned since taking over is that the company was in a bigger mess than anyone knew from Nasser. Hopefully this will be a good change. Unfortunately, with things planned over the years it takes a while to change direction. Look how long it took Chrysler to recover. Quite a few years.

I think its a good thing. Change is always good. As I see it, it can't get any worse then what it is right now, so yeah, new blood will be nice

Excellent point, however there were major changes that took place with Chrysler: mainly the merge with them and Daimler Mercedes. Once Daimler took over, they began to kick out very unique and innovative car and truck designs and like them or not, you have to admit that they are unique and they are selling like hot cakes. The have an image that ppl want. I think it will take more than a CEO change to turn the Company around, I think a merge is in order. Ford JR did nothing to help Ford, the only reason he had the position was because of the name. His innovation and way forward speeches were emtpy claims as numerous plant closing and productions numbers were cut drastically.

DAMN STRAIGHT Ford is doing well right now, well at least I am!!!

We traded my daughters Focus in for a 2006 Mercury Mariner and got that for $2,400 below invoice at 0% for 72 months like $295 a month.

Never looked at anything Mercury before but I have to say I am very impressed with the Mariner which is the cousin of the Escape. To me the Escape looks cheap but the Mariner looks very classy…

I have until 10/2 to get a great deal with Toyota. 2006 Toyota Tundra $1,500 down and $199 a month 3 year lease. I am thinking about it since I would buy it through my son’s dealership, he is a salesman there and got us the great deal on the Mariner. They are a Lincoln, Mercury, Toyota dealer.

Don’t sweet it even with the Mariner and if I trade the Ranger in for a Tundra I will still have an actual Ford in the garage which is the Mustang about the only good looking vehicle Ford makes at this time, in my opinion…

Go Ford Go, run that place into the ground so we can see some really good deals!!!

Dodge has the best looking rides right now, but they are just eye candy. Their quality has improved very little since the hostile takeover.

we got an 06 Escape Limited, and I agree with you that these are very good SUV's, they are very very solid and the quality of these SUV's are impressive!

we were looking for a Mariner for my mother in the first place, but she ended up not liking the Mercury look of it, saying the Escape has more of a truck look to it VS a more Luxury look the Mercury model has, so she went with the Escape. What I like about the Mariner more then the Escape is the chrome Mercury uses in them, Escapes don't have chrome inside, so I think chrome make is look a lot more classy like u say. But over all, Ford did excellent on these small SUV's (Escapes, Mariner's)

You thought Ford outsourced now, hang onto your hats with Alan Mulally at the helm.

Ive recently riden in the Escape and I thought it was a decent ride. However, the tranmission is a typical Ford transmission and it seems like its missing a gear between 3rd and OD. Ford needs to really get on the ball with a 5 spd auto tranny, when merging onto the highway, it was hunting bad for the right gear. But overall, I think its a competion for the CRV and host of other small SUVs on the market today. I think its a much better vehicle for women to drive around rather than Explorers and Expeditions, their downright dangerous with a female behind the wheel of that boat.

I hear you when you shut the doors it just sounds solid and the seats are FREAKING comfortable. The ride is very nice and responsive and personally I like it much better then Explorers. Since it’s my daughters I feel even better. It has the same safety ratings as the Focus she had which was very good but since it’s a bit higher and bigger it makes me feel a little better.

i personally think ford needs to make Ford Trucks more of a highlight in the company. they are much more profitable, and they have the best selling 1/2 ton for 30 some years now. they could drop acouple of the cars that are not selling at all.
