Don't mess with Texas!!!!

My momento from Texas.

Thats right, that is the lesson I learned this weekend less than 5 hours up on arriving.

I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky, considering what it could have been. I'm not admitting to anything on a public forum, so we'll just leave it at that. God Bless Texas!

Not a place I could live, but it is a really great state.

I've always considered myself courteuos.... after visiting for a day I realize that I have no idea what courteous is. Around here I am nicer than everyone else, down there I was on my best of best behavior, yet some how in comparison to the natives I noticed that I was a jerk. They are just to nice, to pleasant. Would take along time to get use to that.

Why would you ask?

Not fast enough for my taste, but more than the 70 mph posted on the sign.

Done something right..... I wasnt wearing a seatbelt at teh time either and didn't think to grab it. I later found out that could have been $130+ . You guys don't mess around.

I would have been dead if we would have went back to my wife with that fine plus the traffic infraction....

You can bet after I found out the cost of that one, then for the rest of the visit everyone in my vehicle had a seatbelt on before I even started the truck AND I drove 5 mph under the posted speed.

Soon as I hit Oklahoma state line, back up to speed +5 sometimes.

Hit missouri and didn't even look at my speedo again.....

I was put in jail for speeding 2 years ago. 118 in a 60

I guess anything over 90mph here is a automatic 3 days in jail, plus a fine. I had a nice 3 days with Bubba to think about how I was going to pay that ticket off

Here I think it's anything over 20 miles over the posted speed limit. So if your going to do 75 in a 55 you might as well do 100. But if your only doing like 25-30 over as long as your respectful and the cop isnt in a bad mood, most will just write you one for 18 over. Which is about a $500 fine.

Maybe the same reason you had to come tell us about it?

Well the first was a given, obviosly was doing more than the posted limit or this discusion wouldn't be taken place. That's not admission, thats stating the obvious.

The second was an after thought, and the third wasn't an admission of guilt to anything. Maybe I was going under the speed limit after I got back to Missouri..... we don't know because I wasn't worried anymore so failed to look.

I hate driving through Texas, but I've never had any run-ins with the po-po out there either.

I usually run with the flow of traffic on I-20, usually around 80-85 mph.
