how much is a new front window about?

300 bucks or so is it??

I was on the highway yesterday following an escape when the Escape kicked up what looked like a big *** boulder out of it's tire.

I saw that thing coming at me in slow motion and all I could do was stare at the size of it coming at me! It hit the window like a bomb going off and made a nice spider web in my window now!

I don't plan on using an insurance company, so how much am I looking at to replace a front window?

Why would you NOT use the insurance company? Do you have comp. coverage? I have Allstate and when I need a windshield, I just give them a call and get it done. Rates never went up because of it. Of course if I had to replace one every other week, (you may have to do this), then I would not recommend going through insurance......

Glass isn't considered a collision on my policy. No rate hikes.

Yeah, watch out for those hulks and you won't need new windshields all the time.

I can't use an insurance company.. long story short.. I had to switch down to only Liability for a little bit until I find another insurance company I can afford to switch back up to full coverage.

I have one of the cheapest Insurance company's around right now called "acceptance" lol I had Allstate at one time, but they kicked me off, then went to Progressive, then they kicked me off too, called Gecko (spelling??) and they denied me, same with 1-800 safe auto, they even denied me!

no one wants me, and if I get full coverage again, even with the cheapest insurance company I have right now is still looking at way over 500 bucks a month!

so how much is just a damn window? thats all I want

I just did a safelite quote for you on an 02 mountaineer. Here it is below:

Safelite Regular Price: $922.70 View Detail
Sizzling Summer Savings: 11% Off
Your Price: $812.94 (not including taxes)

Your vehicle may require the installation of moldings and accessories at an additional cost of $41.40. Learn More

This quote includes a national warranty that is good for as long as you own or lease your vehicle. The quoted price is good for the schedule options listed below.

Matt, I think this is for an installation, but I found this through a search on yahoo, you could do that very easily too.

Mattineer, aren't you still making payments on the Monty?? If so, you're REQUIRED to have full coverage. But anyways, a new windshield shouldn't be more than $400. Call some local shops and see what they quote you.

Safelite.com quoted me at $201 I think. Im gonna have them replace mine soon. Yeah, dont you need full coverage if you're still making payments? I have to have full coverage on my new four wheeler cause of that, two hundred something a year for three years.
