Newbe

I joined this forum because I'm picking up my new F150 tomorrow. This is my FIRST American truck in 15 years. I'm hoping it will hold up and that I'm going to enjoy driving it. It's nothing special just a FX4 SC with a few options like heated mirrors and a 5.4. It will be pretty much a weekend truck and won't be used as a DD. I feel the Ford dealer treated me well on pricing. I paid dealer invoice, plus 4500 off from Ford, plus another 300 as a business owner. My total cost was around 24 grand plus sales tax and licensing. That’s hard to beat for a brand new decent (I hope) truck like a F150! The Toyota’s which I’ve been buying have really gotten pricy! Didn’t believe they were worth that much of price differential. Sure hope I don’t regret my decision! I’m a car type person with a wide range of vehicles which are: 06 Vette, 05 Runner, 05 G35 Infiniti, 04 Audi A6 Turbo and my old 94 Toyota 4x4 pickup. Still not sure why I have all these vehicles but oh well…….. A little personal info: Live in northern CT, 20 years as a LEO, now a business owner. Have 4 dogs, 3 cats and only ONE wife! .. I wanted to say hello and will be looking to learn a little something about my truck from all the experts here. Did I mention I’m U of Nebraska alumni and a huge BIG RED football fan? GO BIG RED…..

Welcome ct, from your description I'd say you were a little older than the rest of us in GD.
For the most part we are young, hip, slick, cool and pretty much groovy.

Sounds like a nice truck.

I'm a member of the Corvette Forum and you don't know what A/R means until you're on that forum! You pick a subject and someone there will argue with you so I'm used to it. I know almost nothing about the 150 except I liked the way it looked. So this forum is perfect for me to learn.

I admit there are days that I feel way older than my 51 years!
You asked what part of CT I live. Well it's in the FAR northwest part of the state (Norfolk) which is the Litchfield Hills area..... LOTS & LOTS OF SNOW and that's why I got the 4x4. I think this will be a fun place to hang out!

Ahh, not to far at all. My brother lives in Warren out in the sticks just up the hill from Kent. I'm up there all the time and in fact might be up there this weekend...

Yep.. I think Warren is about 30 miles from me.... and yes it is the sticks!
If I can see my neighbor house I figure they are toooooooooooo close!
I'm just hoping my new truck will be trouble free.. well ok... mostly trouble free. I have a couple of buddies that own them and love them...
