Isn't there a war going on somewhere?
Isn't there a war going on somewhere?
Aren't there many brave soldiers fighting and dying for our country?
I wasn't sure if it was all over. I don't see anything on the news anymore. I here on the radio sometimes about how we've been defeted. Angry liberal talk radio.
I do know that after a couple weeks of dominating the headlines Karr won't be charged. No one saw that coming, eh? I know there is a tropical storm about to hit Florida, that could today miraculously become a catigory 3 hurricane and make a B-line for New Orleans to take out all the poor people Katrina left last year.
Katrina. Katrina. KATRINA! I know that one year ago the Bush administration, even though it's been deemed inept, created a catigory 3 hurricane and sent it to hit New Orleans. Apparently to rid the country of poor, black people.
Though I would never wish an event like Katrina on anyone, and I mean ANYONE, I find the "celebration" some what strange. The failures of the federal government must be highlighted. It is an election year after all and we know that the democrats can do a much better job
. So while we are bashing the Bush adminstration let us forget the decades of corruption, the systematic failures of local and state government and the entitlement metality that had been cultivated in New Orleans.
No one ever predicted that this could happen in New Orleans. No one except the people who made all the TV programs that I've been watching for decades, predicting what would happen if a hurricane directly hit New Orleans.
I remeber Katrina. I know many people died. Many people suffered, are suffering and continue to suffer. I want to see the suffering end. I think we need to learn from this. I don't think we will though.
I know that almost five years ago, an a nice, sunny September morning, terrorists, not mother nature, flew our planes into our buildings killing thousands of our innocent people. Was it predictable? Could it have been prevented? Perhaps, but the signs that something like this could happen were ignored for many years before. Something should have been done, proactively. It wasn't.
I haven't forgotten, even though it seems that many have, that we still have many of our millitary men and women doing the job that should have been done years before. I am so grateful for these people. They are so much braver than I. I believe in what they are doing and believe in them. I believe that they are taking part in what will turn out to be monumental changes in a region of the world that hasn't seen stability. Civility.
I haven't forgotten that there is a war going on. A war to protect us from people who have a skewed vision of what we, the United States, are. I haven't forgotten that our fellow country men and women are sacrificing every day so that we may have the rights, the freedoms, that we do.
Sorry, just been thinking about stuff.

It's all about the news cycle, didn't you know that?
That's what the media wants you think, that's for sure
The media is the lowest set of people I've ever seen. Having corporations own the public media outlets is a bit unnerving. It's downright scary that few have the power to dictate what the masses see on their evening "news".

i, for one, being in iraq right now, thank you for your support of what we are doing over here. we are making changes that i can see. and i don't go outside the wire but i interact with local people that tell me the changes that are being made. the media doesn't tell you about the schools that we give supplies to or anything like that. all they tell you is how many die and stuff like that. again, thank you so much for your support and a very well written piece.

Thank you. Thank all of you. Get the job done so you all can come home. Your efforts may take a while to come to fruition, but many of us believe that you are doing the necessary things. Doing things right can take longer.
No matter what the media says, there are many of us who remember, every day, that you all are there. There are many of us who believe in the work you are accomplishing. There are many of us who want you all to come home, with the sense that you've accomplished what you've set out to.
