Odd news

He just doesn't strike me as the political type... let alone leaning in that direction.

I'm down with that. He helped invent real rap music, now he leans to the right, can only help matters concerning minorities and republicans.

Don't get me wrong.... I'm not judging him for his stance. Being a member of that "vast right-wing conspiracy" I welcome him to our side.

Up until a little while ago if asked (for some strange reason) what I thought of his political beliefs I most certainly would have said "lefty". Not because of anything I know about him, just because of the stereotype we have of his culture. Not just as a black man, but as somebody in the entertainment business.

Oddly enough what little I know about the man (incredible business man) should have told me that his view on free enterprise and capitalistic pursuit of wealth would make him at least a fiscal conservative. Then it wouldn't be as much of a suprise to seem him on the right.

I hope I don't come off as some type of bigot/racist/fascist/etc. I just think its funny how the subliminal mind works sometimes. Where if I would have put some thought into it... might have figured it out.

I know, it does seem funny. I am a white male (like that matters) thet grew up in north Texas and I actually grew up listening to the three main groups his label signed like run dmc, the beastie boys, and ll cool j. I would have never guessed he had a political stance that leaned right. Maybe Russel Simmons is even smarter than everyone thinks.
