Unusual way to catch a Bass

Went to the swamp pond today from 10AM to 1:30 PM. Scattered clouds, hot(mid 90s), low water level with 90 Degree water temp and just a breeze every now and then.

Was there a few minutes and caught a 2 lber on the Zoom Vibra Tail Speed Worm. Then, I threw it next to a stump, felt the tiniest 'tick' and set the hook on a 6 inch baby Bass. It was flopping around on top as I reeled it in when I saw a bigger Bass try and grab the little one. I stopped reeling and the little one was just flailing away, trying to throw the hook(it went all the way way thru its head) and get away from the bigger Bass.

I saw the little one disappear, waited a second or two, and then I set the hook...........on the bigger Bass and landed both. Man, what a 'trip'!

Kept throwing the Speed Worm and caught 5 or 6 dinks and 1-2 lbers. Caught a keeper on a Vertical jig and then a 3 lber snatched my Rapala DT 10.

I was whipped with the unforgiving sun and heat so I called it a day at 1:30.

Baby Bass Bass--4lbs, 14 ozs--23"

Same

Rapala DT 10--3 lbs--20"

You know, I used to see all your pics at Bill Dance's site, but I quit going there. (In fact, you're pics are how I found F150Online, so thanks!! ) So thanks for posting them here. Now I'm all psyched to run over to Kansas, and get some GOOD bass fishing in before this season ends.

I've been trying Walleye fishing, but I suck at it. It's time to go back to the easy fishing for awhile.

Post more pics when you get em!

Thanks y'all

Wayne: I blew my engine in my L about 9 months ago, Couldn't figure out what to do so I went into a L 'funk' and just let it sit in my garage. Finally got a new engine(see my post in the L forum) and it's running great.

Another one

HOT!

One more

Thanks for asking for more pics Mach and you're most welcome for the head's-up leading you here. .

Nice My brother caught two fish like that in kindergarten! We were at Table Rock Lake, and grandpa took us to "Big Bass Cove." (We later learned that every cove we fished was Big Bass Cove). He had a bite, and it was a little bluegill. As he was reeling it in, he thought he got snagged on something. Dad comes over and starts to reel it in, and bam, there's a 4lb bass on the end of that line.

Awesome fishing story! I went a few weeks ago and caught a few bluegill and catfish. Nothing big though. Even so, it's worth it just to get away from the world for a day.

I've caught two fish at once on a crappie rig, but never anything like that. Imagine if they were both 4 pounders. I think that would have been fun.
