Do you bounce the emails out through an exchange server or through another mail relay service?

Its a POP service through US West Dex. I didn't pick it; I was over-ruled by the vice-president who doesn't know anything about IT.

you should be able to call them and find when account is sending out mass emails...

Or it could possibly be the spam, that looks like its returned mail, which makes you think you have sent something out, and it says its from postmaster, but really its just spoofed mail

Are you sure it's coming from your office? I could send out an email and specify your email as the "reply to" address, every bad address I use will generate a reply to your inbox. You are not going to see the IP address of the original sender in the header, only of the mail server sending the bad address response, so that isn't going to help much. Spammers are also good at finding unprotected POP3 servers to realy from, making it impossible to trace the source. I would random to guess that some spammer grabbed an email address from your company and set it to be the "reply to" address. Other than that, you are probably looking at disabling every PC, one at a time, or running full scans, looking for running process' , that sort of PITA thing. if it is an outside spammer, there isn't much you can do about it.

Then why did you waste our time working so hard to help your sorry ****. BTW, don't ever burn bridges, you never know how it might make a difference down the road however unlikely it might seem.

well as long as the problem PC isn't consuming your bandwidth and cutting into your surfing time then I guess I wouldn't worry about it either.
