Oh my gosh. I just heard about this on The Daily Show. I thought it was a joke but it turns out to be true.
Supposedly President Bush read Camus' The Stranger while on vacation.
Hey Raoul . . . talk about irony !!!
And as if this wasn't funny enough, there's this quote by Tony Snow, the White House Press Ho.
Tony Snow said Bush "found it an interesting book and a quick read" and talked about it with aides. "I don't want to go too deep into it, but we discussed the origins of existentialism," said Snow.
Yeah. Right. Excuse me for a moment, I can't stop laughing.

OK. Now, I can't decide if this is true irony, or if someone in the White House Press dept. actually has a great sense of humor and a basic knowledge of French Lit. to have chosen this title to claim as having been read by W.
