just put a deposit on 2006 FX4, good deal??

Hi all.

I just got back from the Ford dealer. I was there for over 3 hours.

I put a deposit down on a 2006 FX4 with pretty much every option. 5.4L, 20 inch wheels, full leather interior, power sunroof, power sliding rear window, running boards, bed liner, etc.

The truck had a MSRP for a little over 40k.

After the deal was done, I walked out with the truck for 28k(including tax, and all fees) but this was including a $5800 trade in. So basically, I got $6200 off sticker.

I think I did ok, what did everyone else pay??

It's not to late for me to haggle more.......

Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. As long as you're happy with it, thats really all that matters. Some will agree its a good deal and some will sy you could've done better...

So, another Jersey guy!! Wanna get that thing dirty? Come to our meet in PA Sept 8,9 and 10th, it's gonna be a blast. Check ou the thread in the Northeast forum.

What could you have sold your trade for? (In most cases you are better off selling your old vehicle rather than trading it in.)

Was at Ford getting a part last week and saw F250s with stickers of $50k!

Then they had a GT on their floor for $166k, and get this--$50k more in "dealer markup" I've seen them sell new on Ebay for $170k, what idiot is going to give someone $50k extra?

Yes I will give you $205k for the GT, then tomorrow, my now used GT, will have dropped to $150k. This gives me a $55k overnight depreciation hit! Thank you nice Ford Dealer, may I have another?

That sounds like an alright deal. Depending on what you traded in, you might have been able to sell it privately for more and go to the dealer with cash money for a down payment, but it looks like you did alright nonetheless.

actually, I got 9k off sticker, I forgot about the taxes.

I traded in a 98 F150 with 100k miles. It needed work had suspension problems and **** I didn't want to sell it. I rather spend the extra 1K the ease of the transaction.

The truck is awesome. I do however made a compromise, the 5.4L is pretty damn weak. I drove a hemi ram it would out power this F150 any day. However, for my needs, the F150 won in every other category.

Can't wait to pick her up!!

You'll need to put up some pics so we can check out your bad new ride!

Ford 300 hp and 365 tq

Dodge 345 and 375

Seems like either would be sufficient but what does your truck wiegh? Maybe 5,100?

I have a 4,000 pounder with the 4.6 its not bad for tooling around but next one will be a 2003 (last year before they put on weight) and the 5.4!

If you must have big power just get the Dodge SRT10 and get it turbo'd that ought to smoke some hides
