Who Misses the Vent Window

Do any of you guys miss the triangular shaped window on the driver and passenger side of older F150's. I have an 05 and it doesn't have them. I really miss those and wish they'd bring them back.

Anyone else?

Tom

Long time complaint of mine...

I love those wings....no need for AC in many cases with those.

I want 'em back.

Oh man I miss those. They were great for smoking cigs- good ventilation, ashes fly right out and you could dispose of the butt without worrying about it blowing back in and starting the cab on fire! I also miss the foot dimmer for the headlights. Does this make me an old firt?

I like the look of them with out it. But sometimes miss the ****ion. If they could clean them up a bit, maybe make it retro wit ha seamless glass, no frame. Also maybe somehow make it dual funtion. Attached to the window glass so it rolls up and down with it and can open out. Yea that would take some designing, but if they can invest research money into removing the gas cap, then why not make a hella cool window?

Add me to the "miss it list". I never owned a truck that had those, but my Pops did, and I loved it.

Bring 'em back! To the middle seat dude in a non-airconditioned truck, those were a life saver.

I have an 89 with a/c that dosent work so the vents are great.

My question is why did they take the dimmer switch out of the floor? Its so much easier and I believe safer, especially with a manual. I think all vehicles should have them.

UC couldn't get his foot up to the turn signal lever, that's why he kept his old truck.

Edit: the first time I wrote it didn't make since.

Please explain how it was safer with a manuel. Owning a manuel myself, I am trying to figure out how a quick flick of the finger is inferior to missing a shift trying to dim your lights. I think they were done away with cause they would short out easy from all the rocks and mud and what not. My dad had a couple trucks with them on the floor and was forever changing them out.

the wings were nice on my old bronco but, on my 99 its better without them, its a better view without the bars blocking the mirrors. For great airflow i open the rear slider and crack the side windows.

I dont miss them.

They made it way too easy to break into the trucks. Easier than prying open the handle on the 97-03.

I guess it depends on the truck. No way to open mine from the outside.

Like ranger81 said, they kick *** for smoking.

Very nice blast of air when you open them up right too.

really?

One swift kick or punch and that little metal frame around the triangular window will fold like origami.
